Hi all, this is my first post and I appreciate anyone's input on this.

So, just quick background - I'm 20 years old and I am just starting to dabble in astral projection again, which I first got in to when I was maybe 14. Religiously every single night I'd do a little progressive relaxation and then I'd attempt to break through - but I could never do it. I got vibrations sometimes, after weeks and months of practice. BUT I was also really heavy into psychedelics and other drugs at that time in my life - from 15 to 18 my life was a total haze and I never connected my addictions to my astral block, I guess you could call it.

Anyway, I've been sober for quite some time; long enough, at least, to be clear minded. I've been meditating again in the past few months - at least once a day in one form or another. Tonight for the first time I went through the relaxation/projection method I used to (try to) use. In about twenty minutes my hands started vibrating in a familiar, nice way I'm sure most of you can relate to. Kind of pulsating kind of vibrating. It was present in my legs and feet too, but in my hands it kept getting stronger and stronger until it wasn't really a pulse any more, but it was an almost uncomfortable vibrating/pricking feeling and it progressed up my arms. My focus was broken because that strength of feeling was foreign to me despite all my previous attempts - even though I thought I had taught myself that there is nothing to be afraid of when breaking through, I just didn't know if that's what was happening. I thought my circulation might have been severely off-kilter it was such an intense feeling.

SO I stopped and sat up just sort of groggy and I stood up after a moment and I was so disoriented and kind of dizzy - my vision was not blurred but weird. The buzzing was still present in my hands.

Now I'm just kind of tired and puzzled about how intense my hand and arm vibrations were.

Any insight?

Book knowledge response: This is due to energy / chi blockages in your body, and after much practice they will eventually clear themselves.

My response: Could be a lot of things, I started with very intense vibrations, a few times intense pain at the base of my skull. Now days I barely even feel vibrations.

So what does that mean... is there some sort of spiritual glue that weakens overtime... is it that I've cleared karma, etc.. not sure. But point is keep doing it, maybe focus more on energy work, give it time.

Maybe focus on making the vibrations stronger in your hands till it burns out whatever the problem is.

It sounds familiar to what I've felt 5 times over. It starts in the hands and feet as a blood-circulation-cut-off feeling? My first ever experience with that was from a hardcore panic attack; that tingling sensation and loss of blood flow (yes, the blood vessels are collapsing) spread out from hands and feet and reached my head before I managed to calm myself down enough to reverse it. Subsequent times were from panic attacks as well. Today, they're manually induced by this...:

QuoteBreathing technique called "prana yoga": "Breathe in and have no gaps between the intake breath and the exhale breath so the inhale and exhale is in one complete circle, in and out. Allow yourself to feel your True Spirit Self Nature come up. In the first stages people often feel their body tingling and burning off energy, and this is actually energy stored from the birthing experience. People often feel a lot of ego energy come up too, and if you stay with your breathing process staying focused on the idea of feeling your true nature this will burn off and the joy and peace feelings will become your predominant feeling. It will because that is your true nature of spirit—not anger, yuck and crap feelings. When you're having anger, yuck and crap feelings and similar behavior you know that that is ego predominant. Also, correlate the breath with the body's energy centers / chakras."
Nothing to worry about, I suppose. I like doing the above now. Feels funny.

So what should I do?

First make sure it's not the circulation being cut off, try a different position, etc. If you're sure it's something metaphysical then doing what you're doing is enough. Eventually it will work itself through.

You could speed up the process by doing yoga, martial arts, tai chi, getting acupuncture, energy work, qi gong, etc.
