Hello! I've been intersted in OBE, and astral projection etc. for a long time now...
I've been trying for a while now, but I haven't been consistant (whoops)

I'm just wondering this: whenever I try to do an OBE... I usually end up having this happen to me,
aside from hearing the weird buzzing noises in my head,

1) I tend to either feel like my head is going to explode..
2) for some odd reason my eyes keep fluttering open by themselves (even though I try to keep them closed)
3) my body feels numb.. sometimes it starts to hurt..

... I dunno, but I can't help but think that I am doing something wrong...

From reading all the forums on here, I get the impression that leaving the body is supposed to be relaxing...
but every single time I try, I just feel exhausted from it, or really uncomfortable.

any input will be really appreciated. thanks!

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Projecting is a relaxing process, at least it should be once you get more experienced.

Buzzing and feelings of pressure is normal when starting out.

What starts to hurt? Your body? Try projecting from a different physical position.

"2) for some odd reason my eyes keep fluttering open by themselves (even though I try to keep them closed)"

Your facial muscles are not relaxed enough. Try to massage your face for a while, and contracting the muscles for a few seconds then release them (while taking deep breaths). Good luck.

Before you get to the buzzing noises and fluttering eyes imagine your entire body relaxing like one huge heavy blanket, like your face melting, your shoulders slumping from the weight, ect.

Also, if you don't normally meditate your body can become numb and even hurt from sitting/relaxing in an abnormal position.

I'd say find a position thats relaxing for you, but I didn't ever see progress until I picked an asana posture and stuck with it. It hurt at first and I got a lot of cramps, but stretching before and after daily helps a lot and eventually it wasn't a problem anymore.

I agree with what other have said above. These are the signs of your body being not fully relaxed. Body must be so relaxed that you lose sense of it. In other words your body must be asleep.

I've had AP a few times.. i start to vibrate, buzzing noises and i get lots of pressure on my back's left side (where my left kidney is).
It HURTS 80% of times. When I started to have these, I couldn't go too far. Only when I started to forget the pain, and get be ready to it, i could leave my body.
