Vibrations started after periods of losing and gaining consciousness. I exited and ended up in the room I was laying in. I looked around for a moment and an idea occurred to me to try something new. I remembered how in one of my previous experience a long time ago I began seeing in all directions all at once out of the blue (360 degree vision). However short of looking at my hands I realized I never really made any real attempts to perceive my body (my non physical body) while I was projecting. I recounted that experience of seeing in 360 degrees and wondered if it was possible to shift my consciousness to see my non physical self from a third person view. At the thought I felt a shift in perception and I seen a figure standing in the middle of the room. I thought about lifting my right arm and it did. I realized I was now seeing my non physical body from the third person view. I turned around to see the head and front. What I seen startled the crap out of me. My arms had a checkered pattern (sort of what I seen described in Rick Strassmans DMT book). However what freaked me out the most was my head and face. My head was a deep blue colour and there was an odd pattern on my head. I had no hair just bald blue head and what looked like yellow lotus flowers connected by single lines in a geometric pattern. This was the very first time I ever encountered something like this. I don't think I'll be wanting to see myself while out of the body again lol. I always thought and expected like others mention that it would be a dark filmy, or perhaps even sparkly energy body, but that is not what I seen. Anyway just thought you guys might be interested in hearing about that.

Sounds like a great experience T.L., why would you not want it to happen again?

Im not saying I wouldnt want to obe again, I just don't want to see myself like that again. It was probably about the creepiest thing I've seen since I've been projecting and it was me lol.

dbmathis

Do you have any artistic ability? Perhaps you can draw what you saw.

I paint and I've already planned on painting it eventually when I have time.

Your description of the yellow lotus flower is nearly a perfect description of the crown chakra known as the Sahasrara (Golden onethousand petal lotus). It is the topmost of the 7 major chakras and is considered by some experts to be the most important of all the chakras.

Just thought you might want to know !

Yeah, and indigo is the color of the brow chakra under that, which could account for the blue head. :)

Good point Stookie

And BTW since this is the very first OBE report (of thousands) that I have read where a person describes  a chakra I feel forced to ask the inevitable question.....Why isn't the sighting of chakra/s much more widely reported. According to the Hindus (and others) chakras are present in each and every astral/ethereal (subtle) body yet nobody reports seeing them! :? :|

So what's up with That ???? :? :?
Just cogitating out loud.

Greytraveller,

This is cutting edge stuff. Give it time.

What's interesting is that I never took much stock in chakras or believe in the existence of them really. All I know is what I saw was probably the most visually disturbing thing I've seen while out lol. If you get out soon again give it a try. Rather than just looking at your arms or legs..etc. Tell yourself you want to see your non physical body from a third person perspective and see if you can move your consciousness (or part of it) away to do so. What I expected to see and what I saw was a completely different story. When you see yourself (or your non physical self) in this kind of way (alien looking) it makes you wonder about the origins of yourself. Perhaps different people have different non physical origins. It seems everyone assumes we are (spiritually/non physically) the same and have the same origins because it seems that physically we are the same.

However, after seeing myself in this fashion I think it is very plausible that we are not all the same, and we are not all from the same non physical reality/origin. What was interesting to me was that I had this book I just got not too long ago but didn't read it through at this point (Inner Paths to Outer Space: Journeys to Alien Worlds through Psychedelics and Other Spiritual Technologies). Well a few days after this experience I was approaching the final chapters of this book and there was a series of pictures at the end and one picture surprised the heck out of me. It was this alien looking humanoid thing. It's arms had checkered board patterns and it's head was sort of the same only green reptile looking. So I started looking in various other books I had and some descriptions of experiences on dmt mention encounters with beings that looked like this, that had checkered patterns on their bodies. Im going to have to get out again soon and take another look and see if I see myself the same way again. Maybe next time it wont shock me as much lol.

wow that sounds amazing! i will def try this (look at my head/ face) when i have OObe!
and it does sound scary -- alien origins--- but this world and universe is hugeeeee and full of cool things/ phenomenons~  8-)

Ive been wanting to get that book so bad T.L. - the inner paths one. I found it in the bookstore a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised when I realized Rick Strassman had another out that I somehow missed. Is it worth buying? I shouldnt even ask that. I loved his first book.

Anyway keep digging! The checkered pattern thing is interesting - I remember a few times going OB and seeing a checkered pattern, a sort of interdimensional portal it seemed,  where my bed should have been. Cool though that you finally saw yourself, I still havent and ive been popping out, at least consciously for about 4 or 5 years now. I usually just see a cloud where my body should be. Then again half the time I don't bother looking. Makes me think, maybe I would be just as creeped out as you if I were to see myself for what I was. Haha. Maybe I cant handle it on some level yet.

Leaning over
Crawling up
Stumbling all around
Losing my place
Only to find I've come full circle.

That is true, but only to a point. The Hindus (and others) have known about this for thousands of years.
But my point was really this --- if the chakras Do exist in everyones astral/ethereal body then more people should have reported seeing them. Some people that have seen their energy body (in a mirror for instance) Do report seeing colorful energy patterns, but not in the chakra or lotus shapes.?
btw On the same general topic very few people report seeing a Silver Cord while OOB ??

While I've felt what I always figured had to be my chakras, I've never seen one. But felt, oh yeah.

They are also described in different ways, colors, numbers of them, locations, according to which system you study. While mostly similar, they sometimes very greatly.

I remember when I first started here at the forum and Frank was still in top form, he said he hated the concept of chakras and the mysticism tied to it, yet would talk about his own "energy centers" that he would "fire off" from time to time, especially the one located at the heart, because of the pleasant sensations involved. But he wouldn't call 'em chakras!

Yes it was an enjoyable book. Was interesting to find out others who have used DMT in various forms experience what I do even though I do it naturally.

", I still havent and ive been popping out, at least consciously for about 4 or 5 years now. I usually just see a cloud where my body should be."

When I was talking about the checkered pattern on my arms, and the blue head/flower pattern geometric pattern I seen, I was talking about my non-physical body. When I check and see my physical body it is as it is normally, the only difference is one does not look as good from a third person perspective as one thinks they do physically lol. On the occasions I see my physical body it almost looks like Im looking at a corpse.

Yeah, it's been around, but kinda in the same sense as people 20,000 years ago would looks up at the sky and see stars and wonder just what the heck they were looking at. When I say cutting edge, I mean that more people are getting involved in AP all around the world and I imagine that in few decades people may have a true understanding of the Chakras.

I think the internet and the age of information may have a lot to do with is, not just with AP but with many things.
