When in the process of APing is it appropriate to ask for help? After hypnagogics? Do u have hypnagogics every time u lay down at night to AP?

radman32

When i say ask for help, i mean calling out mentally for assistance.

Before, during and after.  :)
We call those "affirmations".

Before you practice, repeat an affirmation.
During your practice, repeat that affirmation.
After your practice, ... you get the point.  ;)

Last night, w/ the assistance of smokin some herb, I lied down and ran through my ap process.

First attempt: i did some breathing exercises, but seemed to jump straight into crazy symptoms. My throat started to hurt, and i was not comfortable, so i got up and readjusted.

Second attempt: I layyed down, did more breathing, then trance, and i actually felt the calming effects of it. Then i tryed some more projection techniques. I got up again to get more comfortable, cuz i was cold.

Third attempt: I layed down, did trance again, then raised and balanced my chackras, then i felt energized.
I called out for help. I did feel like i wasn't connected to my sleeping body. I could see three faded colors, like a green, a red, and a blue source. And i felt like i was coming out easier, lifting up from legs, and arms, and moving around. I tryed moving away from my body completely, but i still didn't feel right, nor independent. So i tryed rope method, and yada yada... I don't remember how far i got, but it was a good practice night. I really just want to ap soon. I felt like i did well. Any tips?

I guess i really should have started off right, and focused on my routine. The whole experience was great! Soon enough, it'll work out. I did happen to have some weird half-lucid dreams, but i don't quite remember them all.

Maybe the herbs are holding you back!!!

no, i do believe they help alot in getting familiar w/ OBEs, kinda similar w/ using the binearul beats or the lights for the eyes, or even the assistance of someone leading you. Safe drugs do happen to induce an OBE in a sense, for euphoria is being 'out of body' like. Salvia, shrooms, peyote, acid, and pot, they all do similar things in leading the way. I'm not saying i don't wish to induce an AP normally ...

I will never condone the use of drugs to achieve altered states of consciousness.

I have two major reasons for this...
First, you never know what you're experience (if you even experience anything) is created by you or the drugs.
And secondly, the journey you're taking is a long one (for most people)... drugs allow you to bypass the journey and head straight for the goal.
You'll miss a lot of very important lessons.

"The journey is more important than the destination."
It's very true...
