Can you ap from sleep paralysis, I have at least one every month, everytime I just want to wake up because of fear, other times I just wait to see if something happens. Can I will myself out during that time or is it the wrong time to AP?

Xanth

That's actually the optimal state to AP from.
When you cause it without falling to sleep, it's called the "Trance" state, basically described as your mind fully awake, but your body fast asleep.

Yeah, I agree, there's no easier time to project than from SP. It's only your physical body that's paralysed. All you have to do is roll your (astral) body or sit up, and Bob's your uncle.

I guess I'm the only one who disagrees with this.

You're a bit more educated on this than I am CFT.
I won't be upset if you explain and I'm wrong.  :)

Yes CFT we would love to hear your comments on this. My first and well only AP so for came when I got the vibrations I just rolled out.

I'm not disagreeing about needing to be paralyzed when APing.
I'm disagreeing with the way the term 'sleep paralysis' is used to describe deep trance, is all.

Most of the time, Sleep Paralysis is what happens when you wake up and your body is paralyzed.  You're not lucid and are usually still dreaming.  In cases like these, you are fearful and not lucid.  This is not good for projection, because you have to become lucid (which wakes you up completely) fight the visceral fear to then try to go back to trance.

To me the optimal time to try to project is when you are in deep trance, when your body is close to paralysis, or paralyzed, and you are having some other type of symptom, like vibes, hypnagogics, and still are completely lucid- enough to know what you want to do and then do it.

I know they sound like the same state, but they're not; SP happens when you wake up in the middle of deep sleep (or right after it), trance occurs in the beginning of the cycle, when you have full waking awareness.
