Do we need these workshops?

Lately I have seen several leaflets about workshops like Magnified Healing, Shamballa Multidimensional Healing, Awakening your Lightbody, Activate your Divine Consciousness. Is it really neccessary to do workshops like that for spiritual growth and to prepare yourself for ascension, like it says in these leaflets? Has anyone of you done one of these workshops?
Your opinions please.  :-)

I try to give my honest opinion on everything so don't take this the wrong way at all :)

All that sorta stuff is just our perception of things, if we heal ourselves spiritually we -do- feel better but it does not mean we are. I personally have never been to one and don't believe in any way that -we- have to prepare ourselves for ascension, as if we -have- to do something to be accepted when we die :) But give it a go anyhow, no harm in trying eh? But if you have reservations and think it's abit silly well, I doubt you're missing out on much.

Sorry if you found anything I said offensive to your beliefs but just how I feel about it :P

I always like to teach myself how to do things but for those who want others to teach them how, it's an excellent way to learn about energy and consciousness. Since I started energy body development and healing I have not gotten sick in years and whenever I feel a headache or cold coming on I focus my awareness and prevent the illness from taking over my body.

I'm certain that the majority of physical symptoms and diseases are caused by blockages or something else in our energy body. Obviously, doctors/pharmacists don't like to hear this because they went to school for 10 years to explain how the physical body manifests these ailments. I definitely recommend that everyone spend some more time investigating the effects of energy body development on our physical body in order to live a better and happier life.

To be honest, I too think there is nothing you MUST do for Ascension. For me, the soul we are part of simply withdraws the little bit of itself when it's had enough experiences of Here.

Workshops? I've seen all the advertising for many years, freaked out over how expensive most of it is, been to one or two, spoken with workshop-junkies, looked at offering my own more simplified one and generally had heart-ache over the whole workshops concept.

I look at it this way:- With some help I found a way that worked well for me to Awaken, and it cost me nothing just as my old teacher said it would. I have seen hundreds of workshop attendees who paid good money for not much in return, and in many cases only received another variation of Beliefs and no direct experiences. Now I show people what I did to Awaken, for free. Problem for most is it really is a lot more simple than we think or believe it could be. The way I do it with people is to show them how to bring White Light into their body through the Crown Chakra, as a basic process used whenever you wish. Oh, forgot to say when you do it you can feel it coming in.

Next I show ways to connect with the higher-self... called Guides, Angels, God and other names by various groups of people. It is really only the representation of You the Soul. So, once a person can do this themselves without help, I am done my part and the person then follows their own insights and experiences as directions to explore for their own growth and Awakening. Simple isn't it? It works well too when people take it seriously and not just do it as a fluffy, enjoyable once a week thing.

In the end, some workshops may give you something you can use, I would think many can't. And, I would think that if you have to pay then it should only be a small amount anyone can afford. To me, it is more effective to cut out the middle-person and go directly to your higher-self. We must remember the New Age Industry has gone down the same road as all other human endeavours toward greed, ego/superiority, and attachment to a Belief System. So new, easier ways need to come along for us to cut through all the hype, the huge beliefs, and get down to the nuts and bolts of having real experience of ourselves.

To repeat what everyone else said, you don't need workshops unless you think you need them.  Some people do better when others teach them, some people do better when they teach themselves.  Either way it's ok, if there is ascension, you're coming too.  The purpose of workshops and self-taught work is to make it easier to adapt to change.
And frankly, we don't even know if that applies anyway.

Hi Zino, you didn't say anything offensive. I appreciate your opinion.  :-)

Kurty, Tayesin and CFTraveler, thank you very much for your input. A few years ago I was thinking about attending one of these workshops but I never did. They are indeed quite expensive. One of the reasons I would like to hear some opinions is that a person in my family is doing Magnified Healling, which costs €600,- euro's/= $ 901 US dollars. It is once a month and is 6 hours each time. Not everyone can afford that amount of money.

I also do like to learn by experience but sometimes am uncertain if I do things correctly. I am glad to hear that you all think that you don't have to do anything for Ascension. I always try to follow my intuïtion and until now I haven't felt that I should do one of these workshops, so I go with my own pace and hope that I will learn the things I'll have to learn.  :-)

I'm sorry, I wouldn't say you shouldn't do this but now I've seen the price tag. Yeah, don't do it. Even if it did work I think we know it wouldn't be 100% the best things in life are free from what we learn. Just think if you payed that horrendous amount of money and then feel the same as when you walked in. You will not be any worse off if you don't attend this and if you do then you may be slightly better off or just the same but still be down $901, true spiritualist that would do this in a legit way would say materialistic objects aren't important no? Why would they ask for that amount of money then eh? I mean, if you are very well off then it's worth a try, but I think it would be better spent towards a charity, helping other people rather than yourself :)

Also, if you go by your instincts your life can't go wrong, some things may. But you'll be better than if you take risks and waste money all the time.

:)

I agree with most here, if there is ascension I don't think that you paying an obnoxious amount of money will get you any closer to it than the next guy

About the workshops, I kind of agree with Zino, and a bit with others.  I think most things are "mind over matter" and if doing healing is what it takes to get your mind over the perceived illness, then that's what it takes.  I have practiced a bit of NEW energy work though, and it may just be in my head but even my allergies are dying down and I notice myself feeling more awake, even needing less sleep as well.  And this is maybe 5-10 minutes a day of it, so I think it's really up to you if these classes are worth it or not.

I'd personally love to take a class - but there's no way I'd pay over $900 for it!  Especially not when the internet/this website/youtube is available for almost nothing anymore.
