 hi,
i've been attempting to astral project for sometime now. I'm in the middle of Bruce's Astral Dynamics, working on my minor storage centres etc. Now I can put myself in a good trance state, even induce vibrations/buzzing but it seesm everytime i arrive at this stage, it's when my mind is starting to slip away into sleep, then i notice the vibrations and next thing i know they dwindle away and im left laying there, with my body feeling light/floaty or even asleep but my mind completely lucid and awake. aware of everything thats going on in my room. I dont know what i'm doing wrong, i've tried exit techniques after this happening thinking maybe i did project and its the mind split but i end up just actually being awake, any theorys?

I think you just need to work on your exit technique a bit more.
It sounds like you've got everything except that.  :)

I don't think that its though, like the vibrations are faint, and then when i feel like they should intesify suddenly theres nothing, no dreamy/trance state as I had been in its just clear as a bell like i've just laid down to practice but my body is relaxed still.

It sounds like you have to get deeper in, that's all.  I think I know the state you are talking about, I go there almost at will during meditation, while listening to binaural beat recordings, or if I stay focused while going to sleep.  From that state I have never projected, though I've had lots of imagery and some auditory hallucinations as well.  When I get to a deep state of vibrations (sleep paralysis) there is no mistaking that feeling.  One thing, to get in there I've noticed that there is a moment when things go purely blank or black - that I think is the still point.  It is then that I either go directly into sleep or into sleep paralysis and remain aware.  The point is, for a short time (perhaps an instant) I lose control of my awareness, but then regain it when the full vibrations show up.  From that state I can either go into a projection (or an attempted one, I've failed to fully separate many times!) or into a lucid dream.

The point is you are on the right track.  Just keep experimenting with those deep feelings and try to go deeper, and then deeper still...you'll know when you've gone deep enough to attempt an exit.  For me, the strong vibrational state is like being caught in an electric ocean - no faintness once it sets in - the sensations are really strong, almost violent at times.

That's what you're supposed to feel- completely awake and aware, but with your eyes closed and in such a deep trance that you have no body awareness whatsoever.

Have you tried actually getting up when you think you're awake?
It's possible that you need to spend more time getting into trance (relaxation, breathwork, whatever visualizations), and then when you feel the buzzing and other symptoms, instead of launching into an exit technique, do some energy body loosening methods, a little bit of 'noticing', and then, when you feel 'weird' or 'different' then launch into your exit technique.

You can't rely upon feeling the vibrations or feeling them at a certain frequency.
Sometimes you'll get them, others you might not.  Feel out when you get to a certain point and make your separation happen then.

Thank you all very much! this is all extremely helpful and i enjoy the insight, i think i do need to work on my trance and going deeper. my birthday recently passed and i was surprised with a whole library of books, so i have no doubt i can figure this out :)
