i am not new to hearing those voices as i fall asleep. i read once that those are the voices on the astral plane. and then theres a theory that its just your conscious unwinding itself. i see both as correct answers. but i have read on here about..idk..people or spirits or something talking in your ear while you're falling asleep? is that correct? i'm just wondering because the other night i was falling asleep when i heard whispering kind of in my ear and head and it was in another language and it was getting faster and faster and then all the sudden it screamed in my ear like something scared it! i've never heard a scream like that except for in a movie or something when something horrible happens. and its just..i do not watch scary movies. i don't read scary things other than ghost stories online. the only other time i've heard whispering like that is when i had a nightmare once. and i never have those except for twice last year! the one i heard it in was when these demon shadow spirit things were whispering in my curtains. i had someone interpret the dream for me, turns out there was a demon following that person around. ANYWAY its early in the morning and i'm rambling. back on subject...does anyone have any idea what i heard? its been bothering me the past few days. i'm scared its going to happen again and it really really scared me when it happened.

The term is "Hypnagogic Imagery/Sounds".
Basically, it's the last rements of your mind trying to keep you focused on itself when you're trying to fall asleep.
The mind hates being quiet.  It's really to be ignored.  :)

Alternatively, the same thing when you're waking up is referred to "Hypnapompic Imagery/Sounds".

oh thank you. hahahaha obviously it hates being ignored because it screamed and it really scared me. hahahaha

Questioner

This actually happened to me recently, except i can't remember what i was trying to think of at the time.At the time it sounded like a guy talking loud in my ear, which sent a tingle down my spine.

Hearing voices while falling asleep or sometimes trying to trance is pretty normal for me.
Hearing voices that aren't mine. It was usually meaningless, random words. Ive heard before that when spirits speak they speak to your inner ear. Ive heard voices from the outside also a couple times, like something was whispering-speaking in my ear. More than probably since your drifting off to sleep, what you were sensing was created by your mind like a mixture of being awake and asleep. By becoming aware of the noise, noticing and focusing on it. You probably thought it was strange which made it that much stranger.

I'm curious about how long you heard it for and when you became aware of it.
Either way I wouldn't second guess it. Analyzing that kinda thing doesn't do much good.

When falling asleep or in trance, you are open to the astral realm's entities manifestations. You become less in phase with the physical and more in phase with the non-physical.

Thus, if a non-physical entity wants to communicate with you, it should do it while you're in those states. I think all we hear is what entities closest to you have in mind at that moment.

Some people refer hearing screaming, chains, whispers, laughter and much more. I don't think those are hypnagogics only. All of us attract non-physical entities that drain our energy, it's highly unlikely that one is completely free of obscessors. I think it's them who come up with a fraction of what most consider to be hypnagogics only (I think there surely are some hypnagogics, but, in my opinion, it's unlikely that they're all we hear when in those states).

It's nothing to fear, though. If they are there when you're in trance, they have been with you all through the day, you just couldn't sense them while awake. The most they can do is suck up some of your energy, nothing else. Nothing that a energization session won't heal.
