Hello everyone, its a pleasure to be on the forums. 

I'm so happy that I've found a community of people as interested in astral projection as I am! Its wonderful.

My name is Tiffany, I'm 20 years old and I've been interested in the mysticism and the occult, for... well... since I was about 7 or 8. I am very interested in occult sciences, specifically astrology, numerology and tarot.

When I was 12 I had what can only be termed a 'mystical experience'. I was a sitting in my school gym for a ceremony when suddenly my head started spinning and I was hit all at once by the most crushing derealization experience imaginable; it was as though all the mysteries of life had been thrown at me at once and I sat there completely overwhelmed. This completely shocked me; I stumbled out of the gym and fainted. After that experience my life was significantly different. I was considerably more intuitive, I started having visions (they have increased in frequency over the years), instances of premonition (I'm trying to learn to focus this ability), seeing lights and aura and sensing presences.

I became aware of astral projection when I was about 16, and I was instantly intrigued. I tried for a week or two (I was not a patient teen) and without any success, I pretty much stopped. However, I had my first OBE when I was 17, when, during a dream, a man "pulled" my arm when I had fallen, and I awoke hovering over my body. Though brief, it was an incredible experience and it inspired me to learn more about astral projection.

For a couple years I tried, on and off, to have another OBE, but with limited success. I managed to procure many altered states, and a few semi-conscious projections, but nothing substantial.

Unfortunately, when I turned 19 the "abilities" I mentioned earlier became problematic. I would hear voices, see figures that "weren't there", have thoughts inserted and removed from my head, and I would have malicious presences near me almost every night. I was extremely depressed and very suicidal. 

I spent about 3 months in the hospital after my first psychotic episode. At the time I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and prescribed an anti depressant and an anti psychotic.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end. I soon became destructive in my relationship with my current boyfriend. I would have violent mood swings (within mere minutes of being ecstatic, I would crash and become suicidal) I started self-harming, indulged in a severe eating disorder, I would disassociate often and watch myself say and do harmful things to the relationship, I developed extreme and obsessive perspectives, and generally just acted very bizarrely (Alex, my boyfriend, described these episodes as if I were "possessed"). The psychosis was under control with the medications, but this behaviour was in its own way, even worse for me because I seemed to have no control, and sometimes, no recollection of doing these things! Anyway, this problem would soon be diagnosed as Borderline Personality Disorder.

I would return to the hospital 4 more times last year (I actually just got out about 3 weeks ago), for a total of about 4 and a half months in one year. Not pleasant.

That's a recollection of the events that brought me up to this point! The good news is, I am now feeling better than ever before in my life and I have been having such incredible success with astral projection. In the past week and a half I have had one to three conscious projections every single night. Most of these experiences have been extremely pleasant, with a handful of negative encounters. I have no idea what brought on this bout of OBEs, after years of interest, but I am not going to complain. These experiences are transforming my life and I feel blessed to be having them with such frequency! I don't mean to sound vain, but I really do seem to have a significant talent for lucid dreaming and can procure at least one to two every night, and then quickly turn this into an OBE. Most of my projections are done in this fashion, though I have had a few RTZ projections from the hynopompic state. I have yet to project from the hypnogogic state, though I have come very close. This is something I am working on though.
