the pentagram means many many things. it had an original meaning which i believe was in protection, but it has changed so many times due to different religions abusing it and claiming it was what it wasn't.

really, though, any symbol only has the power that you ascribe to it. as in, if you think something has power, then it will help you focus your power. although, drawing a symbol and infusing it with power is a different way of giving it power than just trying to tap into an "innate" power of a drawing/symbol.

If you want my advice as a magician just starting his journey, I would suggest you create your own symbol and leave the pentagram to one side. The pentagram is a complicated piece of kit when you really start to delve deeply into the realms of magick, so perhaps not best suited to your task.

If your creating your own symbol you want to charge, try making it something you can relate to, perhaps something that is unique to you or something that has defined you throughout your life. Maybe you could constuct one out of the letters of your name? just a few suggestions. The most important thing is that it should feel right for you, if you think the pentagram would do this, by all means go for it.

There was a big thread about pentegrams, soe time ago. It was very good, try searching for it.
And you might want to try sigilising your will, I like that method.

You are the Alpha and the Omega. You are vaster than the universe and more powerful than a flaring supernova. You are truly incredible!!

Perhaps you could use one of the FUTHARK Runes.Youll find pics of them handy enough on a web search. They are simple to recreate and can be powerfull symbols, each with their own meaning.

I'm a little late on this I know.  But, energy development is like your foundation, it must be built strong for the rest of the structure to be properly supported.  The AD workbook has a good program to follow.

Hmm true. I got Astral Dynamics a few weeks back and after I finished PPSD I started reading it. Absolutely fantastic. I keep recommending it to every other person into this. Robert Bruce rocks.

Maybe I'll come back to this whole card thing for protection some other time. For now I gotta work on my energy body.

Thanks guys

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

I saw the movie 'X' the other day (it ain't no porn!) and suddenly I got inspired for some energy developing stuff that could really benefit my psychic self defense and overall just be cool.

I wanted to make a white card with a blue pentagram with blue glyphs meaning that its power (the energy I enchant it with) will only be called apon by me and only me. Somethin like that. I know enchantment is possible cause I've done something with a staff before so I thought applying this with a sacred symbol (the pentagram) would make a really powerful tool that I could use at will.

I'm still looking into this just to make sure I ain't bein a crazy 12 year old. I still don't know what the pentagram means! Any info?

Thanks
