astralization

Hello, I'm relativity new to Astral Projection but I am now reading a book by Robert Bruce called Out of Body Experiences and it is a good book for beginners. But anyways, what I did was I lied down at the usuall time I go to bed and I had a comfortable posture and just lied there, but I tried to keep my mind awake. After a couple of minutes, my mind started to go to sleep but I kept the awareness. After a couple of more minutes, my body started getting this 'electric' feeling that everybody describes, I felt this rush of energy through my entire body and I tried to clear my mind because I thought to myself that this is the beginning of an Astral Projection. I tried to clear my mind, but then as I felt this electric energy rushing down my body, my eyes started fluttering like they were affected by this energy, I tried to keep my eyes relaxed but it wouldn't do it. Does anyone understand why my eyes started fluttering and any recommendations as to what I can do to help relax my eyes? The other hard part about my AP attempt is trying to clear my mind, because I got so excited about going into the Astral Realm that this excitement kind of made it harder to make the transition to the other realm. It is like going to sleep when you are really excited, it is very hard to do. Thanks you!

How bright is it when you go to sleep.

Consider buying something to cover your eyes...

BUT, before doing any of this try again to see if you get the same result, keep on trying!

I have only had this while attempting Shamanic Journeying using a drum. My eyes flutter soon after i relax and I dont mean they slightly flutter they REALLY twitch and move and they seem to alter to join the beat of the drum.

I beleive it isnt something to do with light but like when the brain reaches REM its a signal that the brain is changing frequencies.

I'm able to do it with electronic trance music (D.J. Tiesto / Shaw / Pedro del Mar). My mind seems to move to the beat of the music which can be pretty fast, if you've ever listened to VERY loud electronic music with surround sound and strong bass!

I've been attempting AP a couple of days now and the eye fluttering seems to calm down, I do have a slight light in my room where my fan's power button is and it is a little bright. But when I AP, my fan is on. Does having my fan on affect my AP or is it better to turn it off?

The eye fluttering may have been my body's reaction to wake up as I was expieriencing a different feeling than my body is used to, the early stages of AP. But I have learned to relax when doing it as I get used to these sensations.

I have, but it had only "effect" on me if I smoked weed (I quit though quite a long time ago) and I could literally feel the music in my veins and all over inside of me and not only with electronic music also psycho (hypersonic/ skazi/ infected mushroom, etc) it was a nice feeling but I'm not going back to that, instead I'm trying new ways to achieve it without using anything else just by quieting my mind.

Good luck with that... I use every piece of technology I can find to help me!

as I don't have that much technology at the time I stick with brain waves :-)

I have had this exact same problem.  About 8 months to a year ago I was using the RB projection method (which I wasn't successful with) and every time I sat down to practice I would get to a point that I assumed was the beginning of my exit when my heart would start beating wildly (which they tell me is my heart center/chakra), I would get a rush up my spine, my breathing would become rapid and shallow, and my eyelids would flutter open and closed really fast and uncontrollably, like I was having a seizure or something.
be awesome.

Consider the possibility that you may have consciously entered REM (Rapid eye movement/dreaming sleep). Depending on the amount of sleep you have been getting you may dip into a quick REM cycle the instant or even before sleep takes over. Since your body went into the REM cycle and you were conscious you were able to witness the uncontrolled movement of the eyes, which has happened to me a number of times since my sleep cycles are erratic. This happens to all of us when we sleep usually you just are not conscious to perceive it under normal circumstances.

What about REM when you are wake then? I hadnt been layed there very long - only about 15-10 mins.

I'd consider that a "DEEP" trance.
Generally you don't need to go into REM to do anything metaphysical.

Stookie

Fluttering eyes are normally associated with going into trance. After becoming more used to entering trance it will probably go away on it's own.

If this is the same experience I had, it's not REM, it's not even really the eyes.  It's the eyelids.
be awesome.

Yes, I meant the eyelids - not the actual eyes :P

Oh well thats a different story. Trance, hypnotic trance, or epileptic seizures for the latter you wouldn't be conscious for heh.
