Sigh. More problems of society.  Prime example right there.

Anyway, since I got no reples to my actual question that had nothing to do with that game, I'm now going to have to waste money and buy an analog clock.  Which I don't know how I will do because I can't really drive anywhere and I have no money [|)]

Anyway, could we get back to the topic at hand?  The game isnt about points. It's about fun training.  Could we not post all of our scores?

kakkarot

yeah, so i finished reading through the document on lentation and uh.. well, i don't do it. i can do it a bit, but the thing that i do that i thought was what he was talking about was that i quicken my mind's ability to process information and my body's ability to act/react.

he speeds up his perceptions, i speed up my reaction time. my bad.

When I double-click on the clock in my windows task bar, it opens up an analog clock in a window along with options to set the time, date, daylight savings settings, and time zone. There are also analog clocks for free in the form of shareware programs.

If you want a metronome, just record a noise you like and loop it to repeat itself every second or every two seconds or whatever you like.

Your heartbeat is fairly useful.

The fan idea wasn't bad.

first of all...

Pod - you need the latest Adobe Acrobat reader to view it.  Word will not work.

Everybody talking about the game - The game isnt just a test of your "Matrixing" (had to for Tom  [:P]) skills.  Some of it could be luck.  My score is because I figured out that if you bounce it off 3 walls he can rarely return it.  If you toy with him for a bit and not get straight Aces the whole match, your score will go up.

There's luck, there's skill, then there's this.  Your score does not reflect your Energy work levels.

Sorry to bum out your day

"According to the veritas tutorial, lentation training and energy work don't mix". incorrect. energy work mixes with everything... you just have to know how to do it.

"I'm curious about something. If one had to choose between lentation and fast reaction time (is there a difference?) which one would be better to develop?" yes there is a difference. lentation isn't "messing with time", according to the article it is about making yourself percieve the world around you and making your brain process information (at the same time) soooooooooooooooo much faster than normal that everything is going slower IN RELATION TO YOU. time does not change, you merely percieve faster. you cannot affect the speed of anything with this, you merely percieve faster.

as to which is better, it depends on what you want to use them for. try mastering both :) . lentation allows you to think about what you are going to do before you do it, which you can't neccessarily do by having incredible reflexes. quicker reaction time allows you to respond to your environment even when you aren't expecting something to happen (like when you WOULDN'T be using something like lentation). ie, for lentation to work you have to know when to start using it, reactions work even when you aren't expecting something to happen.

If someone has the knowledge, and wants to do something, how far do you think they can go, if they lack the experience, and are unable to sustain the amount of effort needed to succeed?  ~ Self 2/25/2003

No, you're wrong. Lentation is a term made up by the author of the PFD file at Veritas, I think it was Darkduck. Lentation is NOT slowing things around you down, it's NOT slowing time down, but speeding yourself up by increase of adrenaline. There's a martial art built on this, I can't remember what it's called though.
When you let a glass fall, it sometimes may seem like it's falling in slow-motion.. I'm sure everyone had such an experience at least once.. That is Lentation. Now with the PDF file at Veritasonline.net you can learn how to control it.

And the PDF file works great with me. I myself am not interested in learning Lentation though I read the whole PDF; I would have no use for it, but you could contact the author (Darkduck, I think) to see if he could help you out.

ShinTrueKiWarrior

I've heard of a martial art built on lentation. Although in my experience lentating comes with the arts I practice. With time and experience, a person may discover how to harness this useful ability on their own.

Marchosias

Could anyone send me the Pdf on lentation

My email is cetra5345@yahoo.com

kakkarot

No, anyone who has the pdf, do NOT send it. The author of it, DarkDuck, has declared that he wants ALL circulation of that article to cease.

Marchosias, if you want to talk to DarkDuck directly about it, goto www.theveritasacademy.net and find him. (but first check the forums for information on why DD doesn't want the article circulated so that you aren't just asking him questions that have been answered a dozen times already.)

sorry, i'm not trying to jump on you, but this thread is so old that it doesn't talk about the fact that dd asked for the article to not be spread any more.

Chaosblade

Actually, DD doesn't want to spread it anymore because is was dangerous, and newbies were getting themselves killed or hurt with it.  He has now declared that anyone with the .pdf can distribute it, but he will have nothing more to do with it.

Lentation has many risks to it, like anything else.  The adrinaline speeds up your heart rate, shallows your breathing, and makes bloot clots form in vital areas of the body, including the brain.  The brain clots will cause stroke.  This is why pracitioners of Teneko (the art of lentation) shouldn't practice more than an hour a day, with a fifteen minute grounding period  in between the two half hours.

That being said, I need that .pdf file.  I need to catch up on my skills.

kakkarot

don't spread the lentation article. if you want to find out for yourself that DD did indeed say this, goto the veritas academy (link in my previous post) and find DD and ask him yourself.

i don't know who this chaosblade is, but nobody has gotten themselves killed so obviously he's lying/hyping this up.

and what he said, chaosblade, was
quote:
Be my guest if you want to practice it, I can do nothing about the guides people still have.
http://forums.theveritasacademy.net/showthread.php?t=1029&page=1&pp=10
but that does NOT equate to allowing people to spread the article.

and seeing as how this is a matter for the veritas academy and not this website, PLEASE take your discussions of it over there. however, before you post over there, be sure to find past threads on lentation and read through those since dd REALLY doesn't like having to post the same thing again and again and again and again and again because you can't do a simple little search.

Maybe not, but blood clots in the brain (stroke) lead to death.

Anyway, who is DD to say what we can and can't learn?  Ever hear of freedom of speech?

James S

Kakkarot has made a very good and clear point.

Because of the legal issues surrounding this article, it is probably better that any further discussions about lentation be kept on the Veritas forum that Kakkarot has kindly provided the link for.

This is not to disregard freedom of speech, it is simply to show courtesy to the originator of the article on lentation, who already has his own forum set up for discussing it.

If Robert Bruce had requested that his material not be circulated on the internet, and discussions for his work be kept here, I'm sure it would be appreciated very much if the other metaphysics forums helped out by referring discussion back here.

That point being made, I would like to now close this topic.
Again, for anyone wishing to talk further or know more about lentation, please visit this site:

Thanks again Kakkarot for that link
