Since you mentioned it already, would you care to be more specific?

Jack dee did something similar for comic relief (British fundraising event on BBC1) It was quite good and it must take some endurance for him just to have done it for those few hours, let alone however long Blaine did it for!

Hi,
Vertigo is when you stand on a high pillar for ages, basically [|)].

I will do this for spiritual enhancement and to find out my capabilities. While up there I will give a shout out to fellow psions and tell people below me about energy ect., if possible.

James.

I ask this for all that have only the slightest clue of what your talking about..... [ i think i know what it is...... standing with one foot or both feet though.....]

How long did David Blaine stand on that 'pillar' for?

[ and yes it would be very amuseing to see you talking about energy and stuff to those who are watching..... i think that might throw you 'off-key' so to say though. ]

Oh yeah... and im thinking that the few risks that may be involved, are 'crampage' of a number of muscles in the body..... hunger... fatigue..... tiredness..... distraction.... oh yeah.... and the sudden stop at the end of the fall, if you were to slip.
If someone has the knowledge, and wants to do something, how far do you think they can go, if they lack the experience, and are unable to sustain the amount of effort needed to succeed?  ~ Self 2/25/2003

its probably very likely you'll be a very different person from then that might not want to do that.. i mean thats over ten years from now isn't it?

auraseer

Hi,
Yeah, I suppose it is around 10 years away...but that gives me more time to prepare [;)].

I will not just go into it without training my physical body and preparing my mind. I will learn, practice and mentally train for 3 years before and maybe more.

You stant on a high pillar (forgot how high it is, but it's very high), with two feet (like normal). I will collect energy all the way through and send energy to the people below me, making them be suprised, and believe in energy metaphysics (hopefully...).

I dont know how long he stood on it before.

Cya,
James.
P.S. If you want to see some pictures, research 'David Blaine' on a search engine.

how long did david blaine do it for anyway?  was it over 24 hours?

Tarconiss

Heh.... For some reason that reminds me of being a Gargoil for one reason or another..... I used to be really into gargoils a while back... if you would like to know a decent way to train for that, here you go.. [ it may sound stupid but bear with me...]

try to get a bucket or large pail or something of the such, and saw/cut/bend a small part of the top. Make it so that it is stable, but slightly tipsy. OH!!... even better....[ or more cost/effort efficient... Get a rolley chair.... the kind that spin around and such..]

Just flat out stand on that object preferably outdoors for as long as you sanely can. Observe how long you can do that, before falling over, or getting too tired to do so any longer, or if hunger gets the better of you..... remember, that if you do manage to stand longer for more than 12-18 hours, to get plenty of COMFORTABLE rest... [ best to go to a spa or something to let your muscles relax, then to get into a comfortable bed and sleep for preferably 8-12 hours when the day finally comes or when you go into hardcore training for it. Thats a tip on how to let your body recover and endure such prolonged activities. ]

how much more common sense or little tidbits of helpful information can i throw in for that..... hhhhhmmmm...

Balence practice: --------------------- check....
Endurance tip: ------------------------ check....
Stressing the issue of sleep: --------- check....
Attempt at being witty: --------------- denied....]

hhmmm... can't seem to come up with anything else.. brain got sidetracked.. oh well... hope this may have helped in any way... Best of luck, and enjoy.

Hi,
I have decided that I will do a David Blane's Vertigo thing where he stands on that tall pillar (is that the vertigo?). I will not do it at my present age, due to press ect. But I amthinking of doing it in my late 20's.

If anyone can tell me the risks involved, or tell me about it, I will be thankful.

James.
