So, I want to open my chakras now. And my third eye. What do you do to open your chakras? What kind of chakra meditations? How do you open your third eye?

Okay well since nobody is giving any serious answers I might aswell tell you a technique I have learnt from Swamiji Sivananda a great Yogi and Guru!

Keep in mind that this may take some time to develop, you must cultivate some patience or you will not find much benefit from these exercises.

Yogis and Jnanis too concentrate to this centre on the Bijakshara, Pranava!(OM). This is called
Bhrumadya Drishti (gaze at the space between the two eye-brows). More details of this important
Chakra will be given in the subsequent lessons.

Also vocalising the mantra iiiiiiiiiiiiiii works very well, pronounced like the e in Sheet, coupled with concentration in the middle brow area where this wonderful chakra resides will start to awaken it. Vocalising this mantra for about an hour a day will do alot.

Dear folks,

there are some real peculiar benefits that have happened to me by focusing on this chakra that I can not fully describe. I would flex it like a muscle the whole time and it takes only a small portion of awareness to sustain it.
I did this for a few weeks straight and I had a great time with more physical relaxation, inner peace, detachment and spiritual connection.
Actually, I was enjoying some kind of superman effect.

I have had a theory that by focusing on this chakra, more energy flows into the upper centers and lesser energy is left in the lower centers where negative energies can exist.
In that sense the third-eye feels like a spiritual refuge camp to me. It is definatly worth experimenting with and I have just begun to do so, again.
