Hey everyone,

This past March, I was having outstanding success with oobe's.  Whenever I took an afternoon nap ar went to bed at night I at least got to a stage where I felt vibrations and could exit, however, I can't do anything now.  Iv'e stayed conscious for over an hour almost every night while sleeping trying to induce an oobe and I don't even feel vibrations anymore.  What could this mean, I'm doing nothing different.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Have you looked up or read anything into Frank's Phasing Model?
You might have a bit more "consistent" success with it.  :)

Believe it or not it could be that you are trying too hard. After several successful OBEs when some people hit a dry spell they then try Really hard to induce another OBE. This is usually an overreaction. I know because it happens to me as well. I have found that repeating the intention of going out of body at various times during the day is more important than trying hard to induce an OBE at night. The mental intention translates into a form of autosuggestion which activates the subconscious mind. Eventually the subconscious mind will activate an astral body/physical body separation. So relax, don't get too upset about this (at least not yet), repeat OBE intentions now and then while awake and then allow the natural astral body/physical body separation to take place at night.

Dear citation,

chances are that some time during your experiences you have shifted your focus away from where it belongs, however your discription is too small to tell anything further. From my own experience, waiting or trying to induce "vibrations" gets one nowhere.
If you lay down and start expecting or desiring something to happen just because it occured that way last time, you're not going to get very far!

kind regards,

I'd disagree with some of the previous advice in that I think expectation and intention are extremely important, and have given me more OBE's than any other method.  I don't think it's possible to try too hard, but it is possible - as someone mentioned earlier - for ones focus to shift, and for it to move out of the "sweet spot" so to speak. I think most people who practice astral projection are constantly searching for a method which will allow them to project at will, and that's probably why our focus shifts around so much.

The "trying too hard" we're talking about infers that you're trying to "force" the experience... which most of us know from personal experience that it'll always work against you.

Hey Xanth you seem to be a phasing convert now. I have had better results with phasings too.

I really am :)

I've had much better results over the last couple weeks than I have at any point in the last while.
