Journeys Out of the Body

Ultimate Journey

Im not sure what the difference between these two are and whats the better choice. Anyone?

"Journeys Out of the Body" was his first book.
It was loaded with his thoughts and experiences of him when he first started going out of body.
It also contains his old concepts and theories.

"Ultimate Journeys", is his final book.
It concluded with everything he learned up till that point.
It included all his current theories and ideas.

There's a book in the middle... "Far Journeys".
This should be where you start.

Read Far Journeys... THEN Ultimate Journeys

there a reason why that book is over 90 bucks? All his others are under 20.

Ah, you're looking on Amazon.
That's because "Amazon" is out of stock and they're selling it though other locations... these "other locations" can charge whatever they want for it.

Just wait for it to come available directly from Amazon.
Or try another site, like Barnes and Noble.

so journey outside the body would not be a good first choice? Im also looking at astral dynamics by robert bruce.

Xanth

Nope, skip it.  :)
I'd also skip Robert Bruce's stuff too... BUT that's just my personal opinion.

really? I hear people suggesting those 2 books then others saying to pass them up. Not sure who to listen to.

When I say personal preference, I mean it.  :)
Astral Dynamics did nothing for me... PERSONALLY.  LoL
Others stand by it.  Meh.

As for Journey's Out of Body, I'd skip that one and go straight to his second book first.  Far Journeys.  :)

You should have astral dynamics as a reference book and for an easy energy development program if you don't already do some kind of energy work (meditation, martial arts, reiki, etc.).

I read Monroe's first book, and while it wasn't very practical (didn't teach me much about actual projection) it was a really good book to serve as an introduction to OBE.

I didn't read the other two, but I've been told that they show how his ideas and theories changed from the first.  I've also been told he got a little weird in the last two.

The Monroe books are still worth having I think.

There are a lot of good AP authors out there.  I really like Robert Peterson.  I also like a hypnotherapist named Bruce Goldberg.  He gives a lot of hypnosis scripts to help achieve OBE and other things like higher-sefl communication, etc.
be awesome.

I thought Astral Dynamics was a pretty decent read. Like everything, take it with a grain of salt. Apply what you can use.

Far Journeys and Ultimate Journey are 2 different takes on the overall view on OBE's than Journeys Out Of Body. I've just finished reading Ultimate Journey and I must say I was delighted and feeling good after reading it. For it's time it was a major eye opener into mainstream knowledge.

I didn't find it weird or strange in some of the passages throughout the book. I do view the passages that were being written with "..." as being indescribable in words although he tried to convey some sense into them.  If you read the whole trilogy it would show the journey of a man discovering the true natural self in time. Anyone who has an interest in OBE will find some value in these books. They represented the basis for what it is today Monroe Institute. In the end if you feel like reading it then it's sufficient to get you started.
