So I'm new here but not new to astral projection.  I haven't had much luck until last night for like 10 years.  But last night was different.  I fell to sleep and I use the rope technique and last night I don't know what it was but I think I fell asleep.  And astral projected in my sleep.  Is that possible?  Well I felt my body loosening and it all came out for the first time, except for my head.  So I felt stuck and kind of started to freak out since I was halfway out.  Is this a common problem at all?  So I started pulling harder and harder and it felt like I ripped myself out of my body.  But I could no longer feel it.  I don't remember much about the experience except exploring the parking lot outside of my apartment but I couldn't see much.  Then I decided to go back in so I would remember the experience because I'm sure I must have done it before but went too far or something so I didn't remember the experience.  Anyways when I went back into my body, it freaks me out because it felt really weird, and it almost felt like something went back inside with me that was NOT me.  And that is the part that kind of creeps me out, is it possible for something or someone else to re-enter your body with you?  When I woke up, I was still on my back but my feet were crossed one on top of the other, and I was really creeped out and couldn't go back to sleep for a few hours.  I was shook up.  I don't even know if I really projected, or if it was just me projecting inside my dream.

No, nothing is going to come back with you into your body
be awesome.

It's very possible.  A lot of people, including myself, use our time asleep to project.  For myself though, I need to be Lucid Dreaming to initiate it.

QuoteWell I felt my body loosening and it all came out for the first time, except for my head.  So I felt stuck and kind of started to freak out since I was halfway out.  Is this a common problem at all?
This is very common.  Mostly because we hold the most stress and tension in the muscles of our head and face.  It's very hard to relax these.
Before you go to sleep try doing some muscle relaxation exercises.  Tense up each facial muscle for 5 - 10 seconds, then relax it.  Do this a few times.  :)

A good skill to learn here is "dream recall".  We generally learn this by keeping a dream journal.
Everytime you have a dream you can remember when you wake up, you write it down. :)

Nope.  It's not possible for anything other than YOU to re-enter your body.
Your feet were crossed, because as you were projecting your body simply crossed them.
When we sleep at night, we don't stay in one position.  :)

Sounds like you're doing fine.  You definitely had an Etheric projection.

Are you supposed to tense each of the 98 facial muscles seperately?

personalreality

whoa, that's way more that i work.  i had no idea there were that many facial muscles.

i do monroe's face muscle thing where you do your jaw, cheecks, brow, head, eyes, etc.
be awesome.

Cool, so I guess it finally worked.  So there is NO possible way for something else to go into my body then right?  That's what really scared me.  Maybe I was thinking it was this...does it feel funny when you re-enter your body?  I also remember when I finally did get out, it was weird.  It was like I couldn't see, like it was pitch black.  Is that normal?  Maybe I'm blind in my astral form lol.  I was aware of where I was, just could not see.  But I could move, but it was more like learning to crawl again or walk, I was not very good at it.  I want to continue this then if there are no repercussions, and just have a lot of questions.  Is it easier to do it now that I've done it once?

That... would be a lesson in patience.  ;)

I've found that the best "tensing" exercise is the one that Robert Monroe has on his Gateway Tracks.

Admin, you are very safe, indeed.  :)
What you're feeling is a very natural reaction to an experience that, a lot of the world's population, has never encountered.

AKA: The unknown.

Dear adminofficial,

for more professional answers please ask this question over at http://forums.astraldynamics.com

There you can find dedicated sections and you can ask Robert Bruce directly who has more than 10 years of experience with this field and entity attachment and working with victims.

Trust your intuition, your inner knowing. Your intuition is often your first feeling about a situation. If you felt that something entered you, you should consider that more than anybody else's opinion and start investigating.

Yes it is possible that another entity opportunistically entered your body. Symptoms include but not limited to: invading thoughts, loss of motor control.

I believe the best chances to get rid of it is by trying to choke it out - not giving it any attention (energy). If a foreign entity already has control of a whole chakra, not just being attached, then the whole situation becomes difficult.

Chemicals exacerbate this problem. Many chemical drugs will cause the etheric body too loosen and let intruders in, any time.

kind regards,

Paul

Well this is all good information for me and I appreciate it.  I am a bit less freaked out now and think I will give it another go.  I'm really excited that this has all finally worked out for me, since my first time trying 10 years ago or so.  I was young then and it was harder to concentrate.  Now what about my other question?  For the first few times, is it hard to see?  Is there a particular way to "open my eyes" so to speak?  I'm glad there are experienced people and lots of information out there for me to look at rather than just "winging it".

personalreality

Tiny, there's a difference between something coming into your body and something connecting to you.

I had some entity that influenced me like you describe but it wasn't "in" me, it was connected to me.  That's an easy problem to remedy.  Possession is a whole different experience.  No need to scare people.

We pick up energies all the time that influence our mood, which is why regular cleansing is a good idea.  Sage smoke or shields of white/purple light will clear any emotional energies you pick up.  Also, surrounding yourself in white light before a projection will protect you.  If for no other reason than it makes you think you're protected which will protect you.
be awesome.

I had 2 or 3 encounters with the same being in my early days of projection. I can only describe it as a pitch black "shadow entity" or whatever theyre called. I believed I was possessed but it didn't take long continuing projection for to realize it was a subcouncious creation that I could call on or call off at will. Who knows though, that dosen't necessarily mean all entities out there are your own subcouncious, but I believe the majority of them are a one thing is for sure, the large majority of astral projectors will never experience possession or physical/mental harm in any way. That aside, I wouldn't mind checking out astral dynamics and see what old Robert is up to.
