If you have told me that you had an out of body experience 3 weeks ago, I would have laughed and rolled my eyes at you, you crazy nut.   I just didn't have any interest in something I didn't believe in.

Ill try to break down a timeline of my experiences that brought me to this forum.

15-17yrs old:
Started out that I would wake up at some point where I can't move or talk. I could look around the room, but I had no control of my body. I would experience this every few months.

18-27yrs old:
Not so much....more than a year would go by before I would experience it again.

28yrs old-Present:
When It started more frequent, like 2-3 times a month. It would be the same as before, wide awake/aware of my surrounds, but couldn't move or talk.  As it went on I got this slight vibration through my body.  Then the more I experienced it the more the vibration would get. This vibration would be so intense I would try wake myself up before my veins bursts. Thats what it felt like what was gonna happen.

The next experience was different. Intense vibration through out my body, but i could move my arm upward very slowly.  Then next thing I knew, I woke up the next morning.  When I did, my first thought was of the experience that I had. I was excited alittle. I wanted this to happen to me again.  At night I would lay in a certain way with my arms beside my head.  I noticed that the slightest noise at the point of me falling asleep would cause my nerves in my body to jolt...it is weird and hard to explain. When this happens, I know im going to have an experience.

As the months go by, I have a lot more experiences.  Kinda hard to explain, but the next experiences where like a hit or miss.  Sometimes it was hard to keep me in that state of vibrations. I would all of a sudden wake up or think im awake with the intense vibrations, but just couldn't keep myself there. I would just wake up the next morning.

Now this bring me to last month experience.  I woke up with instense vibrations, I was looking around my room.  I told myself to sit up right on the bed. Next thing i knew, I was or felt like i was sitting up with no vibrations in my body.   I don't remember laying down, but seconds later I was laying down.  Then I told myself to stand up.  Then next thing i knew, i was standing up with no vibrations in my body. I was just standing there looking at my wall for a few seconds. All of sudden the alarm went off and I woke up to daylight.....off to work.  I am convinced that I stood up out of bed. I've had many dreams that felt so real but I know they were just dreams, but this here was so different.

After that experience I decided to do some research.  I found many things that explained my experiences, Rapid eye movement, sleep paralysis.  Then I came across out of body experiences/astral projection.

After reading up on out of body experiences, I was thinking of the experience of myself sitting/standing up to being an out of body experience. I was kinda on the fence on what to believe.  Up until lastnight.  I woken up with intense vibrations.  At that point I was thinking about if could really go outside of my body.  I told my self to just release, and started to float upward looking at the ceiling with no vibrations.  When i went through my ceiling (another weird and hard to explain).....my physical body heard my daughter moving around in her bed, and it felt like my body was waking up to that noise so my out of body started to come back down towards my physical body. Its was like I could fell both my physical and out of body at the sametime.  When my out of body was coming down, I was telling myself "please don't wake up, please don't wake up"...weird ...kinda feel like im crazy tell everyone this.  Well my body went back to sleep, and I shot straight up through my ceiling and into the sky so fast the only thing I could see when I looked down were clouds.  The suddenly I woke up that morning.

sleep paralysis is quite common even among those who don't even wish to undergo it. As for the vibrations they are usually precursors for entering another area of consciousness depending on the level of your awareness. I won't really say much else because I would rather other people with far more experience than me do so. When you sat up you were in a different area of conscious or "focus", generally if it doesn't feel like a dream then it probably wasn't. You seem to already have the answers to your experiences anyways :P Sufficient self research can probably answer 99% of the questions you'll have on entering other areas of consciousness if you're looking in the right place, but if you don't know something it's cool to just ask, at least I do.. a lot. Thanks for sharing.

yeah, your experiences are quite normal and you should definitely keep trying to have them :-) You shouldn't feel crazy at all by explaining it, shooting straight up through the ceiling into the sky is common activity in other areas of consciousness. When you heard your daughter while focusing in the physical as well as were focusing in another area of consciousness that is what would be called an "overlay".

Hi there Domin,

Soli is quite accurate in his observations.
You're experiencing Sleep Paralysis.  It's a not so uncommon event that quite a few people experience.

At night, while we dream, our body paralyzes itself so we don't ACT OUT our dreams.
The only muscles that aren't paralyzed are our hearts and eyes.  This is why you were still able to "see" and "look around" while in that state.

You're technically not supposed to ever experience this state because, normally it wears off as you're waking up.
But from time to time, stress induced or otherwise, it doesn't wear off and you can be stuck in it for a bit.  It's best to just get "used" to it so you don't panic and then use it to your benefit!

It's a great state to OBE from.
