One last thing does anyone know any books on tape methods for increasing Qi energy?  It occured to me this might be the most effective way to get people who aren't all that interested in reading up on the issue into energy work.  Ive seen a few and i bought her a Chi Gung(sp?) book on tape but the Master teaching it assumed everyone had the natural ability to move their awareness and didnt go into detail how to start out.

Physical methods are good to use in the beginning to help learn to feel energy and to move it around. At first I thought it was cheating but have since come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as cheating in energy work. Rubbing the hands together to warm them slightly and taking a few deep breaths is enough to raise some energy. It can be directed by placing the hands on the area to be treated and leaving them there. The hands can be re-heated by rubbing them together as frequently or infrequently as needed. Crystals such as quartz can be charged this way after clearing them in one of the usual ways. The quartz can then be left on an affected area.

One of the things when I first started using energy was that if someone else provided some energy I could use it. Raising energy on my own was another matter. A book on quigong which I read a while back said that one of the first things a master will do is to send energy into the student while the student is learning a basic posture. It is used as an example of what energy feels like and then the student can practice alone after it is recognized.

There is a tape I have at home which might be of use. It is less than 10 MB per side and AOL can send it as a file attachment in two e-mails.

Reiki is a fantastic medium for doing healing work.  The best way I have found to channel healing energy is to let go of any expectations or thoughts and allow the energy to flow on it's own.  Ki/Chi/Prana, etc. knows exactly what to do as it has it's own intelligence.  The one requesting the healing will only receive that which they are willing to accept.  It's part of the whole free will dealio.  Just like asking for intervention or help from the angelic realm.  This is a wonderful thing to remember during any healing session.  You can ask for assistance from anyone from JC to St. Germain.  Whatever/whomever you are confortable with believing in and calling to.

I use the exact method Tom refers to in the previous post before any energy work.  It opens and activates the chakras in the palms and fingertips.

Once you get further along in Reiki you can channel long distance healings.

Thanks for the information Tom and chance I really appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Tom it would be really cool if you could send that tape via email.  Any information on this subject will help.

I wasn't sure how effective 'giving' someone energy would be but thats a good way of looking at it.  Im trying to find a reiki healer around here but its so hard to know who's legit.  I have heard of crystals and quartz and stuff helping and was thinking of buying her some of those.  I met a really nice woman who does crystal type healings and i might set up a few of those.

Have either of you had experience with these types of healers?

Tom

There is a method for healing with energy called polarity or something like that. It is frequently combined with reiki. I have not had a chance to learn it (yet?).

I've been going through the NEW system for about a month or so now proper, and I haven't heard any bad side-effects. Increased psychic sensitivity is not a bad thing. Although it might make you more vulnerable to Negs, you can still fight them off with countermeasures given in Practical Psychic Self-Defense, that is, if anything unnatural arises.

Stimulating the hands does have the effect of "opening" the hand chakras and exchange ports, but what's this about energy having a mind of its own? Never heard of that concept. Well whatever works, works[:)]. What I do when I _try_ to heal somebody(I haven't done any healing training whatsoever...I sort of made it up as I went along[:P]) I prestimulate the hands and maybe the arms, and shift my awareness from my hands into the wounded area, _feeling_ it go into the substance of their etheric body. This usually works, but it can be difficult if the person is unwilling or doesn't know you well enough to drop his/her natural psychic barriers to the extent that energy can go into them.

Again, that was my own theory I concocted(sp?), so feel free to correct me if any mistakes(and there will be) are made.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

The "intelligence" energy has is much like the tendency of water to change its shape to fit the container it is poured into. It also knows when to fall and how to reach the ground when the container is emptied. My favorite example is a shampoo that advertised it could target split ends. It does this because a split end has a larger surface area, and increased surface area has a natural effect of speeding up reactions. Hot air is intelligent enough toknow how to rise, cold air can fall, and energy goes where it is needed because all of these things are so intelligent.

fat turkey:  when i first started the NEW system.. (i mean the way beginning) I did go through a really depressed period.  It only lasted a few days but luckily i read where this might happen as the energy first started being raised.  I find psychic sensitivity does have a few downfalls if you try to relate it to everyday life.

I personally found it harder to relate to everyday things.  Or things that most people find pleasure in.  Though maybe thats just me.

That's more what I meant.  It just changes how you see things and sometimes it seems like its not completely a positive thing if all you're trying to do is work for things and live a happy life.  Just makes you more aware i guess.

Tom: I finally got a chance to listen to the tapes you were nice enough to send.  It sounds really good and Im going to try to sit down and follow the directions tomorrow.  Again thanks for sending them.  I need to sit down this weekend and really try to follow them.

goingslow,

Regarding your mom's ailments, there is a book that you might like:
Hands of Light: A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field
by Barbara Ann Brennan, Joseph A. Smith (Illustrator)
"What lies before us, and what lies behind us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us...." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

My mom has some serious ailments that all doctors have called 'mysteries' for the last 10+ years.  I wont go into detail about the ailments but accupuncture helps her a lot with many of them.  In fact right now shes in a lot of pain and the only thing that helps this particular circulation problem is accupuncture.

Because accupuncture helps her so much obviously I made the connection the NEW system might help her also.  So i printed out the online version after trying to get her to read the section in Astral dynamics.  The thing is shes not the type to try to help herself and although she believes i dont think she really believes she'll feel the difference.

The problem I have is trying to push something on her that I know has certain side effects.  If her health wasn't so bad and if i didnt genuinely believe this would help her problem then I wouldnt try to encourage her to increase her energy.

I was wondering if anyone has had similiar experiences and are the side effects such as increased sensitivity (psychic sensitivity) etc ethical to put someone else through.

I've never tried to push energy work on anyone else before because sometimes I feel like if they really need that in their life they'll go in hat direction.  But then on the other hand maybe I came across this area and started doing energy work and actually knowing it helps the body for a reason.

Any thoughts on this? Anyone tried to get someone who didnt have motivation to do new things or learn new things into energy work for any reason?

Oh another thing i've considered is learning Reiki in order to try to help her but I believe doing it yourself is probably a lot more effective.  Plus i really think sometimes You need to work at something yourself to really benefit from it.
