Yesterday throughout the day I asked for a guide to assist me in my dreams since ive had trouble maintaining conscious awareness during dreams, despite an increase in clarity of "vision". This morning I woke up thinking I had just another night of awesome random dreams but now I am remembering being accompanied the entire night by a wise jedi knight, complete with lightsaber. I know this sounds like some fanboy fantasy (Im really not that big into star wars), but do you think it could be possible that this could be an astral guide who has assumed the guise of what I would consider to be an acceptable 'guide' appearance? That would be pretty cool I think. I guess I'm an astral padawan now.

Not so much a guide, as an aspect of yourself created for that purpose.

There are, in my opinion, two kinds of guides... the first are actual people, from Focus 3 who come by and assist you or take you places which they feel you would most benefit from.  These people tend to be *you* but from another area/place/time.

The other kind, which you'll mostly find in Focus 2, are aspects of yourself.  These are guides which are created by you for you.  They exist only as long as you need them to.  They'll have direct access to just about everything about you... including everything deep within your subconscious that you can't consciously recall.

it is ENTIRELY possible to have a guide (that is not a part of you) come assist you.

HOWEVER, unless you have developed some level of mastery over your awareness, chances are you're still stuck in your own mind when you're dreaming and projecting.  practice makes you more capable of moving past yourself to interact with others.

i would say that i think it takes a degree of skill that most people don't have to get past your own subconscious.  we all have a lot of issues.
be awesome.

If you maintain full conscious awareness during a dream then you are not dreaming, really I dislike the term dream because its just a lack of conscious awareness, everything else I wanted to say has already been said. Really you could just ignore this post, as I just wanted to say my dislike for the term dream due to what it has been made into by others over the various years.

yeah i agree its probably something i created considering my level of awareness isnt as high as it has been in the past but sometimes i find it hard to believe my subconscious comes up with these things though like last night for instance an assembly line of babies swinging on monkey bars. i suppose it could be some weird symbology.

May the farce be with you.

your brain is trying it's damnedest to repair itself and rest up while simultaneously receiving experience to be processed that seems to defy everything it thinks it knows.  this leads to using mental shortcuts, making the best guess with the information given.

it may be a very odd string of images, but your brain is an amazing thing and it's doing a lot.

plus, the sensory information is different.
be awesome.
