Hello everyone,

Last night I had an interesting experience. In a dream, I laid down in a bed to go to sleep. (not my own bed now but a different one in a house I lived in years ago). Now I should say that from time to time in my sleep, I recall instances where I feel the vibrations that come from a traditional OBE. But when I think about them in the morning, it kind of seems a little fuzzy.
So last night I laid down to sleep in my dream. Then I remember feeling those vibrations and it was like second nature to me, I just got up. In my dream I realized that I had left my body and just looked up and jumped as high as i could through the roof. I came back down and just started running down the hall to the next room and jumped outside the window that lead outside. I wasn't able to fly but I soared for a few seconds then reached the ground again. Once I thought about returning to by body it just happened.
At the time, all of this seemed like it was completely real. But when I think about it now it seems a little fuzzy like a normal dream would feel. My reaction at the time was, oh my god I just projected! But now im wondering if it was just a dream.

Any thoughts?

thank you,

Dreams are projections.  The only difference in dreams and OBEs is your level of awareness.  People here like to classify them into dreams, lucid dreams and OBEs I think...but the terms don't really matter.

As Jarrod said, I classify my experiences based upon how consciously aware I am during them.

At the very least, it was a lucid experience, it could have very well been an astral experience... the tip off is this sentence "My reaction at the time was, oh my god I just projected!"  <-- Your reaction AT THE TIME, this is the classic "you knew you were in the nonphysical" point.

So depending if you felt like you were completely awake it was either Lucid or Astral.  I'm gonna lean more towards Astral though.

Thanks for the help guys :)

I read a lot of your posts about dream awareness Xanth, Im sure you get asked this kind of question a lot haha. Very interesting stuff though.
So yea, my reaction was, "oh I just projected" but it didn't feel like everything I had read about (loud wooshing noises, or a feeling of being sucked out of your body) but that could have just been because It wasn't like a traditional AP.

One last question though, When you project do you often remember it clearly with no dream like symptoms the next day? I am going to strive for that.

Again thanks for the help,

hehe I don't mind.  If I did mind, I wouldn't still be here.  :)

That's because once you're in a dream you're "already out".
You're past the point where you'll feel those traditional sensations.

If I have an experience where I'm Astrally Aware, then it's generally very clear and vivid in my mind afterward.
If it's a Lucid Awareness experience, sometimes not so much... like this morning actually.  I had a very lucid experience, but I don't remember too much of it because it was kind of long AND I didn't write it down when I woke up.  LoL
