Hello fello OBE'ers. It's been some time since I have posted as I have lost the drive to attempt projections after having 2 kids. The sleep deprevation provides little opportunity for exploration.

Anyways, what I have noticed time and time again is whenever I am having an afternoon nap I hear strange sounds of wind, and often a bang or the sound of my kids voices. Even the sound of a door opening. I am telling myself at the time it's just BS, but it seems like an attempt by something or my subconscious to snap me out of the trance state and keep me from OBE-ing.

Anyone else experience this kind of thing.

Hehe  :-)

That is by no means subconscious bs. If there is evidence of some kind of physical cue, it was not a mental fabrication. Although even fabrications are subjective truths but that is just another perspective of all things.

[One such perspective that I may present about this phenomena is that they are literal physical beings that are frequenting your children for some unknown motive. Physical in the sense that they may or may not actually have physical tangible bodies but they have a physical presence. Although the evidence points to the former because etheric beings have no need to open doors or make wind or other kinds of noises but it also points to the latter in the sense of the old residual haunting. And do you also hear your kids voiced shortly before or after this phenomena happens? The only reason that you don't see them is that they can actually control or influence the light particles that enter your eyes so that your brain interprets it as basic "scramble" and you don't notice them at all. Pretty effective for persons who have been subjected to the thought complexes of rational, modern adult life. It's all just mind tricks and such is the general attitude presented. Your kids might certainly have a different opinion if they could articulate themselves. And the only reason you notice these is that you actually relax, slow your mental processes down, quite down and tune in/listen to your surroundings. That is when tiny little formerly un-suspicious phenomena become apparent in the quite world you are then aware of. In a trance, things become apparent. But here's the catch! It all could just be complete random bs your house is subjected to due to it's environmental conditions.]

Anyways that was my attempt to mirror the perspective of a close friend of mine whom I frequent discussion. Yes, there is quite an infinite spectrum of perspectives out there. My advice would be to keep your mind open and listen in for a change, let your intuition guide you, fear not and go with the flow.

*(Addition) Forgot to include this initially but your subconscious wouldn't inherently try to stop you from reaching an OBE. If it were it would be under the influence of your ego and from that standpoint it would use the most simple and effective means to achieve its ends. Thus you have random itches, twitches and muscle spasms. It does this because it doesn't want to "let go" of what it is used to everyday.*
They say hope begins in the dark...
But most just flail around in the blackness, searching for their destiny...
The darkness... For me... Is where I shine.

You are simply experiencing hypnogogic noises. These occur when you are on the edge of sleep and wakefulness. For me these take the form of loud bangs, someone calling my name, rushing noise etc etc. This stage is an indication that you are about to separate.

Best thing to do in this condition is to passively watch and let it happen. This will be followed by a huge silence, this is when you are out. If you pay attention to the noises, you will be back immediately.
