Lysear,

I like your questions. As I've gotten older and, hopefully, learned a few things I've found that I tend to look at people as all being one. So, to answer your first question I think in more global terms. I have relatives in Europe and Latin America and like to travel, money and time permitting. My last trip was with a delegation of people to Cuba in February. My Spanish is pretty good. What I was so impressed with was the friendliness of all the Cubans I met. They were able to separate me from my governments' embargo policies.

So people can and should connect as the spiritual beings that we are. The nations and languages that appear to separate us mask the deeper connection we all share spiritually.

Different customs, and cultures are a joy to observe and take in and should be preserved. The problems, in my humble opinion, arise with nationalism and religious fundamentalism, which tend to erect barriers between peoples.

Take care,

i look at myself as myself. i see others as themself. i see everyone as an individual, who all have different traits and are all different people.

i see everyone as their own being, not dependant on their nationality or their ethnic background. such things may be a PART of who they are, but i don't see it as a defining feature of anyone (except people who are passionately patriotic about their nation or culture/race).

I would like to see mankind come together as a people of earth, and without the need for a government. Individuality is important, but the only way it can be reached is by becoming connected with all and by giving oneself to the Divine entity/source of all things.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about this issues. This question goes out to everyone on the forum. Do you think of yourself in terms of your nation, or in terms of your planet? I'm not sure, but one thing I do believe is that to progress, barriers of nationality need to be broken down and people need to think of themselves more as people than, English, Iraqi, American, Scottish etc. What I don't mean is that the individual culture should be destroyed in the process. But is it possible to create a world identity without destroying culture?
