I'm pretty sure that not a lot of people have experienced Astral Projection, Out of Body Experiences, or even know anything about it.  I just feel like I know where I'm going after my physical life is over, and most of the people I know cling to a vague religious view saying they believe in God, that's it, but they have nothing to back up this belief other than saying they have faith.  Take my mother for instance, when I was a kid, we started going to church and when I asked my mom why, she said "because it's the right thing to do", and I had no choice in the matter.  I don't think she really even knows deeply why she is doing this, and I think a lot of people are the same way, they just believe it because it is what they were taught and on a individual basis don't take time to look within themselves to figure out what they truly believe, maybe they don't even know what else to believe...

People believe in God maybe because they believe they are "supposed" to?  I was brought up as a Lutheran because it was forced upon me when I was a kid, but honestly I never bought into it for a second.

Do you think that the majority of people actually don't even know why, deeply, why they believe in God?  Because saying you believe in "God" on the basis of faith in my opinion is blasphemy.  I'm not bashing religion in any way here it has been a part of human culture for a long time, but the belief that when you physically die you see God in heaven or Lucifer in hell doesn't really fit into the picture as I see it.  I've never been religious my entire life even though I went to church and such, but since I've discovered Astral Projection and Out of Body Experiences it has solidified in my mind that "God" is irrelevant.

god = good

that's all its a word that means good
there are many people who are good so there are many people who are god

whats the difference between you doing something good or a god doing the same thing. nothing so your both entitled at that time to be called god. good = god god = good that's it I don't know why its so hard for people to accept,

yes Gods=good

i was always taught that we can never become God(s) because that would be like saying we are the parents of our mum and or dad in this life
i was also taught that doesnt mean that we wont be able to do as they (Gods) have in time

That's a good answer and I understand that, but it's not the mindset most people have that are religious.

NoY

if you read the bible it says "Do not be religious"

I've always seen god as a creator.
And well... I believe we created this reality for our own educational purposes.
We also create each and every night we fall asleep and dream.

I won't go as far as use the word "god" when describing us though... I just believe we are the creator and, while physical, the created.

i was having a discussion with some people on a news blog about religion, got alot of negative respond from the religious people when i posted this lol. i came from a family that made me go to church since i was born to the age of 16, 3 days a week for 2 hours each day. until i finally decided to get a full time job and used that as a excuse not to go to church saying the schedule didnt permit it even when it did or i didnt have to work i just acted like had to go to work and sat in a KFC near my house til the family left and then would go back home. my father is one of those religious fanatics...he kicked me out the house eventually cus of this. but its my view on religion i remember since i was 7 years old sitting in church and this thought came to mind, since the person giving the lecture that day was saying specifically that this religion (just like all others think) is the only right one, only way to get saved and giving his reasons on why.

"religion is the root of all evil, almost all wars start
over it and i believe the most amount of lives lost in human history
or murders or deaths have been in name of religion....its the devils
tool...he wants mankind to be divided, God would want the opposite he
would want all of us to come together as one, treat others as you
would like to be treated, thou shalt not kill etc etc all religions
have almost the same basic commands yet they all use God to justify
the very thing that theyve been told not to do and that they preach.
the only person we should answer to for our beliefs is God himself,
not any other human....nobody on this earth at this moment has been
here over 150 years so for them to swear by something that has been
passed down from thousands of years ago is idiotic and tell you this
is what happened 2000 or 5000 years ago is just word of mouth..we all
know things change with time, people use things for their own personal
agenda and gain and stories can be exagerated as well as changed.
everything you believe to be fact cant be proved your just going by
what a book says or what others tell you. i believe in God but not
religion unless God himself tells me "this is the right religion" not
what some other "man" tells me he believes is. every religion has
followers that will tell you the same thing and swear or die for their
religion. yet i bet you if that same muslim for example was born into
a christian family instead he would be saying the same thing and vice
versa. think about it. make your own decision. dont let other make it
for you. live and let live. we are all brothers and sisters on this
planet."
"this heart within me i can feel, and i judge that it exists. this world i can touch, and i likewise judge that it exists. There ends all my knowledge...and the rest is construction."

Noy, you said that in the bible it says "Do not be religious".

Then I guess a lot of people haven't read the bible, my point exactly, they don't know why they are religious the just say they are.
