Having Issues Seperating from Sleep Paralysis

Ok so here is a long story made less long lol.

Basically when I was young I would find myself waking up but unable to actually move anything on my body, full aware but could not move anything...Always afraid someone was at my door and going to come try to talk to me or sit on me I always tried to close my eyes and wake up as fast as I could as not to have someone sit on me.

This went away for a very long time, then I joined the military and started taking Military Naps, like 1 hour total, but I got good at literally falling asleep in about 6.5 minutes flat.  The thing is I would set the alarm for 10 min, I would wake up, doze right back off and in between the next few minutes I would wake up full conscious but be unable to seperate just look at my toes and couldn't get out at all.

Since then 5 years later, I've read lots of Techniques and Robert Monroes first book.

I can wake up and be in sleep paralysis just about anyday I want, I cannot do anything just lay there and struggle and struggle and struggle no matter what I am unable to do anything just look at my toes and sometimes my arms which appear to float out of my body but nothing more.

The problem is no matter if I try rolling, imaging myself at the ceiling or anything I always wake right back up looking at my toes just barely but cannot get out of my body...I close my eyes again and try to imagine myself somewhere else or try to roll out or anything but nothing seems to work...

Any suggestions?

I forgot to mention....Besides the sleep paralysis, there are times when I wake up, realize im paralysized and can just lay there until the paralysis wares off and I actually awake.  The funny thing is I drift back off asleep from actual sleep, then I think I'm actually awake moving around going about my bizz, then bam, I actually wake up, OR SOOO I think and I was like wow that was weird so go about my business again, and bam, the third time I actually finally wake up, questioning ok, lets see I woke up 1nce, couldn't move, went back into a dream of a dream, then realize I'm in a 3rd dream of a dream...It's really odd, doesn't happen very often but it mirrors Inception closely way before the movie was ever released....Just some thoughts :)

That's a 'false awakening'. I've had this several times. Apparently you can project from this state, as long as you become aware that you are still dreaming. Not something I've managed to accomplish yet as it's difficult to know your dreaming when your convinced you've woken up!!

I've had sleep paralysis (SP) since I was about 10 (32 now) and I've managed to get out of body once from this state. I had no joy rolling or trying to be at the ceiling. I just imagined that I was as light as a feather and that I would float. I was actually lying on my side and I felt my whole self detach from my body through my face! Don't stop trying, I'm still struggling but I think it's gonna take time and a lot of practice. Good luck!  :-)

So if it is super hard from Sleep Paralysis then what the heck do I do?

As for false awaking you are super correct, never thought of it like that because like you said I actually think I'm awake just to find out then I am sleep and think I'm awake again lol.

Hi, I didn't mean to say it's hard from SP, I've only managed to project twice!! I think it's just going take a lot of practice and patience, also try some different techniques. The support from this site is great though, just keep asking questions and everyone will help you.

I'm reading this post from Xanth at the moment, a real eye opener!  8-)

Yes, it is super-hard from sleep paralysis because you're still in REM, and you're usually not completely lucid.  So....

Wiggle your toes, break the paralysis, get up, walk around, go to the bathroom, then to the kitchen, take a sip of water, then go back to bed and prop yourself with some pillows, or sit on a recliner, do some relaxation and some meditative technique, and wait until you either get vibrations or visions, and then do an exit technique that is compatible with your exit symptoms.

Thanks CF....I was tired today so I went to room....I felt the vibrational state which is usual prolly 4 or 5 times, everytime it comes I let it come and try to let it go and see if I can try to seperate, but it always comes and always goes and then I either wake up fully or are in paralysis...Been doing this now for like the last few years, just can't seem to fully vibrate and release :(

I will try what you said CF, I'll wake up and then try to prop up semi in a comfy chair I have and try to relax and see what happens :)

CFTraveler

It's possible that the vibrations are coming too soon, so I'd then recommend you try energy body loosening as soon as the vibes have stopped, and if you are still feeling 'too grounded in your body' then go into noticing- and when you start seeing stuff, then try an exit technique, but not before.

Hi CK, as soon as you know you are in paralysis dont try to wake up or project, go in the opposite direction, feel heavy, sink into the bed and go back to sleep. When you are ready to project you will either feel vibrations or know you can project, then desire to roll over (you dont actually roll over in the physical, but in to the astral.)
Everyone goes into sleep paralysis when they sleep, otherwise they would be thrashing there arms and legs when dreaming of walking or running etc. We are just not aware we are paralysed except people like you who are coming partially out of sleep.
Hope this makes sense, good luck!
Cheers djed  :-)
I have a dream, a song to sing...d~ d~ d~

When in SP I opened my eyes, looked at the wall and then just thought: "Forward, forward"

That worked.

its interesting to me how you talk about military naps because when i was in i was the person no one could pull a prank on during basic and AIT i always seamed to be fully aware of my surroundings kinda like a combat nap where you have to know whats going on around you i started to really creep them out to because i could be snoring like a fright train and they would be next to me with the shaving cream ready to wright graffiti on my shirt wheal i was sleeping and i would wake up before they could do any thing and say get the hell away form me and them fall right back to sleep i find it kinda funny now days i believe that this ability i have will help me to achieve an OBE but who knows it will happen when my higher self is ready to :)
