I'm reading a couple of books on ap and want to know what is the right way to get into a trance. Are there any guides on the internet.

Typically when I try to get into a trance. I just lay in the position that I sleep in, then I relax my whole body part by part.
How do professional projectors go into a trance before they project. I'm asking cause I don't know if I'm really in a good trance state.

Also I'm reading a book that says you should tap your finger before you go to sleep to experience the hypnagogic state, but so far all I've experienced is my mind either wanting my finger to tap or to stop tapping.

Do a forum search on "Focus 10".  :)

Yes learn about focus 10 (mind awake body asleep)
basically you want your body to fall ASLEEP. So if you're laying there trying to make it fall asleep it won't happen because you're thinking about it too much which will keep you awake

What's with this whole "professional projector" term? Seriously, is that the term to describe a hobby now-a-days?

Anyways, pertaining to trance, the simplest method to attain a state is to simply forget your body is there. *poof* Just do it. It's a little trick an associate and myself have and are developing to fully integrate the different realm bodies in terms of interaction. Maybe it's just your brain's filtering function letting more bypassed information into your current "perspective" since you forget all about your body or even your brain waves are increasingly going into Alpha, Theta or even Delta predominance; in any case, "we" found it to work.

Or you can just continue to read your book...  :-P

The trance is easy no finger tapping required, all you have to do is be relaxed so go through your normal routine than calm your mind i like to count to 50 at the same time visualize each number without thinking about anything else than after you have calmed your mind stare into the blackness with out focusing on any of the lights or dark/purple pulsating blobs and feel your self falling than you will fall into a trance

Oh hey Monk your comment dose nothing to help  :|

Likewise can be said about yours.

You know a lot of people take up all sorts of hobbies such as sports or certain arts. Then, there are those who master such hobbies. Those people are professionals. I don't quite understand why that's a bad thing lol.

You'd be surprised how hard it is for some people to relax and calm their mind.  :)
I do love the feeling of a trance though... I could just sit there for hours if I was allowed... *glares at his dogs*  >_>

Let's try to keep responses on course for the thread please.  :)

Would Astral Dynamics work ? I'm trying the new system and am getting good results.

Anything will work if you fully believe it'll work.
So yes, if you're getting "good results" using it, then definitely keep using it.  :)

Just a little note, you may not experience dark purple pulsating blobs, so don't be on the lookout for these. The blobs i have grown accustomed to are green, while my fathers are yellow. It seems to vary for everyone.

I think it depends on what energy center is most active as to what colours you see

I'm at the trance part, but I've got the trance down. After my body feels like nothing I then do the elevator emulation (from Astral Dynamics) to make my body feel more like nothing. But after that nothing happens, I try to do the rope technique (I've never climbed a rope though) but nothing happens.

What should I do ?

Also should I use a more visual(ization) type technique ?

Lexy

Don't expect anything to happen. The more you expect it, the more you push it away. Just keep doing what you are doing & eventually you will get rewarded.

Are there any tutorials on Focus 10 on the internet or this forum ? Also can I still use the rope technique with focus 10

Aren't I supposed to take action in order to project ?

I don't really know how "professional" projectors do it. I can tell you how I do it. (I wish AP were a profession :) Teaching AP has become a profession though).

1- Lie down on your back , head supported, hands on side , fingers slightly curled.
2- Find tensed up areas in your body (like you are holding up your neck or pulling on your shoulders to keep hands from moving etc) and ease the tension.
3- Start focusing on the bottom of your feet, find a mild tingle there. Go towards the top very slowly and ultimately to crown of the head. (Thats kinda NEW thing from Astral dynamics). This should take away most of your attention from the body and now you should be alert but focused in head. (If you are still out-there, simply bring yourself back into head gently, again and again).
4- Focus on breathing, it should be calm and sleep-like. Do not try to manipulate it too much, it will go into an "auto" mode soon.
5- Withdraw your attention completely from breathing (this is important) and focus instead on the ringing sound in your ears. All this time your eyes should be relaxed and you should see blackness (reddish if daytime). Do not try to interpret the shapes or follow them.
6- Maintaining this state for a few minutes should take you into trance, while still aware. You should hear yourself breathing or sounds on the street etc but you will be "transparent" to them.

It will not be easy for those who are just starting (most fall asleep or are tortured by incessant internal monologue). Practice will make you perfect.

For me Green and Purple are brow energy's. its just the way my heart perceives energy
it may be different for you

I'll try it but most of the time I don't hear a ringing sound in my ears.

Edit: I tried it and it worked pretty good. But now I need help on the exiting part. I guess I'll try a few more times until I get it perfect.

I'm going to try this book

http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Soul-Out-Body-Experiences/dp/006251671X/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_3

Just ordered it through my library. Read it before. I'm listening to an audio of the author and he says to stick with a technique for 30 days.

This doesnt add anything to this thread but just wanted to point out that professional is a term used for people who get PAID to do something, not people who are good at something.

If you wanna get technical of course. Using it less technically, I'm simply saying that I don't see that calling someone a professional when they're good at some hobby is bad. If I mastered astral projection, I'd take being called a "professional" as a compliment.

Synune

Technique I use.

Have you ever been awake and "stared into space?" You know when you sort of daze off and go all cross eyed? Now close your eyes and try and let your self daze off the same way. Sometimes I find rolling my eyes up just slightly helps me reach that trance state. I susually dont have to think about it anymore, but that's what I would most closely compare it too.

Could you explain it in more detail ?

Once I get the astral projection book I ordered through my library I'm going to try the target technique for 30 days.

luffy28

I wanted to try the techniques (obe4u) where you stay still when you wake up in the morning, then do a projection technique.

Could anybody give me some tips ?
