how real are the projections?

They feel just as real as physical experiences. Surfaces can be felt, and all senses act like they normally would in the physical.

Try looking for food or get someone to offer you any, your taste sense works so well. Better then 'earth' foods!!!

Hahaha  My whole family became vegetarians 2 weeks ago so I had succumb to "that" type of food by default.  Now I had to add another item to my astral bucket list which is: EAT REAL FOOD!!!! 

Interestingly enough, my ability to concentrate was greatly enhanced as a result, so it's not that bad—and to top that off, I've lost 8 pounds so far!

I had an experience where I walked into a diner in the astral, b*tch slapped a guy who was just sitting and eating his meal, picked up his fork and ate what looked like a salsbury steak-like product. I can't say it tasted better than earth food as it had sort of a "mock taste."
