I had a full conscious astral projection experience once about a month ago using a technique I saw in a YouTube video. I've tried that same technique over and over again, what abhi  suggested, and also bought the Steve G. Jones program (pretty annoyed he keeps saying "Steve G. Jones" yes I already know steve... lol), but since then I can only become aware that I'm out when it's too late and I'm crashing back into my body which ends with a big shock to my system and makes my physical body react with a big full body jerk. Also, as I'm heading toward the vibrational state my physical body starts twitching in various places. Just tonight something different happened...same scenario i become aware just as I'm crashing back but instead of the rude jerking and twitching in my physical body like the other times it's more of a soft landing but with a large shiver. Like, I feel my right shoulder push up with my left falling down and the rest of my body quickly move in a wavy fashion like a giant exaggerated horizontal shiver. I notice that when this happens it seems I've drifted off to sleep for a few seconds while using a technique and then I remember that I want to be aware and that's when everything comes crashing down, pun intended.

Can you help me with this? I'd really appreciate some guidance. I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing or if I'm trying to hard to stay conscious or what? Also, is it possible to get help from another traveler in the astral in getting out of my body? If what I think is the vibrational state, I can get to that state quite quickly, but then I can't seem to separate well.

First of All i would write Robert Bruce at Astraldynamics.com .It coupe be a semi. Active or wakening Kundalini and is not to be taken lightly if so.  I would day stay away from anything astral for a while always a good idea once in a while. Had it myself probably not so strong
Words.....there was a time when I believed in words!

If you're working on becoming lucidly aware after you fall asleep, then it's mostly just due to programming your subconscious mind properly.  Before you go to bed at night, and while you're drifting off into the non-physical... repeat something to the effect of "I recognize I'm dreaming", over and over and over until your fall asleep.  Keep doing that every night until you're successful.

There are other things you can do as well:  http://unlimitedboundaries.ca/2010/09/11/how-to-have-lucid-dreams-by-summerlander/  <-- yup that's our very own Summerlander.  :)

i hate to reference robert bruce because i disagree with many of his conclusions (especially relative to this), but this reminds me of how he says that our physical brain "downloads" the experience of the projection upon return to the body.  it sounds like you're not remembering any of it except for the brief moment when your astral body returns and the trip is "downloaded" but you're not really retaining it.  i would definitely keep a dream journal if you don't already.  but in this case i also echo xanth in that you should work on programming your subconscious to remember the projection side of your journey.
be awesome.

I think I understand what your sayn, it sounds as if you might of drifted into a little deeper of a trance/sleep then what you should of to remember the whole experience. So by the time you become more aware -your already out, which my somewhat zap you back into your body because of the sudden awareness and give you a sudden jolt. As opposed to maintaining the same awareness from start to finish.   ..Correct?

Also about the twitching going into the vibrations, I get similar things as well. Let me explain, Sometimes when im trying to induce one Ill be lying on my back with arms at my side, trying to get the vibrations. Once I hit the deep enough trance, like 10 seconds before the vibes hit, Ill get warning signs that the vibrations are gonna come -dizzy feeling-whipping feeling-or a sudden jerk or twitch. Now the jerk/twitch thing scks because it could ruin it. It could startle you .. and puts you back to square 1. But sometimes these signs are a good thing because if your falling into to deep of a trance you may fall asleep and forget everything -or- They can alert you just enough to keep you aware of everything thats about to happen, which is exactly what you want.

So sometimes when I have my arms not close enough to my body, and I reach this part(seconds before the vibes come) my arms will twitch. Sometimes they twitch so hard they both spring up like a foot. Which in turn startles me, n knocks me out of trance- I have to try again. So what I do is KEEP MY ARMS TUCKED AT MY SIDE. Flat on the bed but not out at n away from my body where their free to jump about if this happens. This will eliminate that twitch, just that little bit of better form. So just lay in a better position where your a little more compact as opposed to your arms out n legs wide open. -Lay there like a stiff log. A comfortable, stiff log.

So if you get those signs and dont twitch you will be aware enough for the vibes and when they finish you should be able to get out easily. There's no mistaken the vibrational state, just make sure you dont try and get out until its over. If all goes well and you maintain that awareness throughout youl remember everything.

As for the last part about another traveler. I suggest you conquer it yourself. Its a mystery to me if thats possible. Id like to say anythings possible when it comes to this but I have yet to experience talking to another traveler in the astral. At least one that I can confirm it with the next day. -Would be incredible though.

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions. I just started a dream journal and have never had a problem with lucid dreaming. in fact, I remember most of my dreams and was always the only one in my group of friends who talked about having dreams where I physically feel everything so often.

Right now, I'm not working on lucid dreaming or coming aware while dreaming. It's kind of a bonus if that happens. I'm trying to be conscious through out. Usually when the crash landings happen it's been when I was listening to binaural beats and with my head at magnetic north.

I have done a LOT of relaxation over the years and I think that's why I can lie down and easily and fairly quickly go into having vibrations. I can even do this while fully awake. Then I get the energy flowing from my head like a wave down my body, similar to chills, but it feels really good. I guess I'm just not getting to the point where the vibrations end while being conscious at the same time.

After reading everything I have now I realize that over my lifetime I have naturally started conscious astral travel but the sounds scared the hell out of me and due to my upbringing thought some spirit was trying to get me. Sounds like rushing air at my ears, knocking sounds, hearing my name along with a rushing next to my ears, foot steps. All while in that semi awake/sleep state. I would also feel the paralysis but be so scared I would work as hard as I could to force myself to sit up and demand to know who was there. Of course when I did that everything would instantly stop, but when I'd lay down again it would all start up. So, I know I have a natural ability to do this. I guess I just need to figure out how to tap in to that state at will. I've been slapping myself for not realizing this sooner and taking advantage of those moments.

My first OBE experience was when I was 14 and I felt my spirit leave my body. I opened my eyes and saw I was out just about 5-6 inches. I screamed and it jumped back in. I had no idea what was happening...I thought I was dying.

I'll try moving my hands closer and my legs too. The twitching seems to be getting better. I'm just not sure how to navigate that in between state I guess. I am doing the affirmations and checking throughout the day if I'm dreaming. I'll keep trying and if you have any other suggestions for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

KatnCory,
That's absolutely fantastic!

I'm glad that you figured out that the sounds are just mind games.
That really does make the process 100% easier in my opinion.  :)

Anyway, congratulations on your progress and... welcome to the Astral Pulse!
I look forward to reading more of your posts.  :)

The more you have OBEs, the less 'symptoms' you'll have like vibrations, crash landings, sounds (I used to hear clanking, voices or snoring), or any unpleasant sensations/characters at all.

After 10 years of lucid dreaming and OBEs the best OBE technique is the 'rope climbing' exercise which works nearly every morning for me, I simply roll out of my body without hardly any effort and can do this multiple times in a row.

I believe your body/consciousness gets used to this altered state after about a year, as if you were an athlete in training. Perhaps it's akin to people that channel - at first they feel heavy vibrations but after time they feel hardly any shift at all.

I've recently discovered that singing or chanting Om raises my vibration, flying abilities and length of OBE so try that next time.

KatnCory

oh, I will have to try singing Om. Thanks. And thanks for all the welcome's. I'm looking for an in person group I can get involved with that works/talks about astral projection but after just leaving one cult I was born and raised in i'm terrified of being lead into another accidentally, well meaning or not. I think one problem I'm having is that I'm not sticking with any one technique from day to day. I was doing the binaural beats but found that I couldn't settle on comfortable headphones that I could end up ignoring, or not being brought back when the recording wouldn't fade away, or having the recording last long enough, etc. so then I went back to staring at a candle for several minutes to make focusing on my third eye easier but when I do that I now find myself wondering if I'm focusing with enough energy or not and then I end up with eye aches and a headache. LOL I think I want to be able to project when ever I want to so badly that just that desire is hanging me up. Does that make sense? Anyone else have this problem?

Last night I tried setting an alarm and getting up earlier while still sleepy to do it. I ended up getting up the first time at 5am, tried, had a headache. Then tried again at 6am, felt a bit better this time and more tired, but just couldn't get in the groove.

So, based on my latest experiences over the last month or so I'd have to say my greatest chance is while listening to binural beats with my head at magnetic north. But then the question is...what headphones are out there that fit loosly enough to not give me a headache and then how do I keep from going too far into trance and getting conscious.

I guess this is an idea...while doing the above I could also utilize the rope technique. It seems to me that combining these, and with enough practice, I should be able to remedy the consciousness issue and at the same time train myself with the rope technique and ween myself off the binaural beats so I can do it on my own. What ya think?

About the symptoms, now that I know what they are I kinda like them because they let me know I'm on the right track. Like last month, the first time I managed to project fully consciously I had a symptom in my forehead with a loud popping noise and a feeling like I was being slapped in the forehead. Initially, I noticed it and then wondered if my cats were repeatedly jumping on my head (which seemed like a strange thing for them to do) but the curiosity won out and I had to open my eyes and check. LOL they weren't. But, after checking, I easily and near instantly went back into the state and the symptom picked up again and I just rode it out and then was able to project. So now, I find myself missing a sensation like that that tells me I'm on my way. I think that's frustrating me.

Anyway, thanks again for all the support and suggestions and kudos! And nice to meet you all! I hope I get to know you guys better as we go along. :P
