I was a memeber of this site a few months ago. Forgot my username and password and I lost interests in astral projection since I couldn't reach the vibration stage. But a few experiences that I am proud of have brought me back.

I am a 14 year old boy, and I've been interested in astral projection since I was around 13. I don't know to much about it, but I know the basic concepts of it. What it is, etc. So, I've always tried to astral project but most of the time I would do it. I would be excited, or in fear. I'd read up about it, then run to my bed and attempt to astral project.  :| That didn't work. I've never managed to astral project but I've had some experiences and both of them took place at 5:00 in the morning. That is the time I succeed most because I guess everything is silent or it has to do with something that involves light (sorry if I am wrong that's what I read on the internet). My first time, my phone woke me up somewhere around 5 in the morning. Then astral projection came to my mind, as I got sleepier and sleepier I began to feel strong vibrations and a sound as if I was underwater. That was really cool, I didn't try any exit methods though. Then the second time, it happened, I went to sleep at 5 in the morning and I began to get the vibrations again.

I'm not that good at doing this, I am still learning. I've never actually projected before but I hope I will. How many times can you astral project in a day, and a question for you : can you astral project right now if you wanted to?

The methods I use, is basically relax and lay down, I get sleepy and just watch the patterns in my mind. Then I began to feel a tingling feeling that I cant describe but it's not the vibration stage. Then I just hope the vibrations come on.
At what stage do vibrations happen, please explain in simple words.

This is more or less how I project... when you're in the REM stage of sleep it's easy to fall into the vibe state or gain lucidity in a dream.

It depends on skill level. You won't find many people that can project at the drop of a hat but they're out there.

The vibes are simply a sign of the pre-projection state of sleep paralysis. You can get a wide range of sensory input during this state so don't worry so much about vibes specifically. The main idea is to maintain awareness enough to end up in a projection. Too little focus and you'll most likely fall asleep and if you get too emotional you might wake up... it's a balancing act that'll become second nature with experience.

AstralBlogger

welcome back

I personally can astral project about 25% of the time but it takes a while to get results.

Most people give up on learning this skill because they think it only takes 1 night to learn.

Don't get obsessed with the results focus on the journey it takes you on. Projecting is one thing

but the lessons and patience you learn from it helps you in a number of positive ways!

I had my first involuntary OBEs when I was around 10, and 14 years later all I've managed are sloppy, cut-short or involuntary experiences. Getting there though ;) Mostly this is because we don't expend 100% of our time 'training'. You will feel the need to stand back every once in a while. Too much eagerness and little results do that, but don't hesitate to dive right into it after taking 'holidays'.

You will feel that it's vibrations and that's it, there's AP beyond that door. Well, it's not. You will be discouraged a thousand times and each time you will find something amazing that will compel you forward.

This is a life-long journey. AstralBlogger is absolutely right. I'm sure the astral is fascinating (having my glimpses there), but I had never thought just trying would be this much fun. Take it easy, don't focus your life around it, just consider it a complementary part that will accompany you forever.
