PLS how do you know when?

Pls answer if your experienced.

K this is killing me! while I can relax for long enough and trance out for long enough there is still something bugging me in my mind which I think hinders my progress. The problem is this:

I don't know when to actually attempt to project. I will often zone out and totally detach from whats going on and lose myself imagining a peaceful scene and such sometimes using binarual beats but I will often be so "lost" I would have missed the opportunity to project for the simple reason I am not thinking and not aware to try and OBE because I am so detached so by the time I have finished the session I would have not projected. So commonly when your relaxed and feel detached enough when is the time that you know if you attempt to project you will? what is the common sign pls from a trance or half sleepy half awake type state. And pls don't say something like "relax and you'll know when" I am looking for distinctive que's for knowing your ready for the exit out stage. otherwise I thinki its hopeless for me.

Ok, I'm going to be as coherent as I can:  You never really know if it's going to work- you just get to the point when you think it might work, and then try.  Now, the 'perfect time' feels different for many people, and will be different to the same person one time and not another- so you experiment and figure out what seems the right time- for me it's the time where I see and hear things, for others is when the vibes start, others is where the vibes stop- but the important thing is not to think you're done trying if it doesn't seem to work- just go back to trance and try again when you think you're ready again.
What is try?  For me it is to do noticing, and then to do energy body loosening, and then to do an exit attempt.  And then see what happens.

Your not gonna miss it. If you do youl just fall asleep unaware.

Really its that moment you fall asleep, you just have to maintain awareness for the part when you do fall asleep. Its at that exact moment you exit.

I read a post the other day, the kid said he tryed for hours to have an obe and then he gave up and just fell asleep minutes later.

Cause you see your actually just trying to fall asleep, just maintaining awareness through out. Its that simple. And for me, at that last moment the vibration comes, I let it finish and exit.

When your exhausted tonight, lay on your back and close your eyes for bed. Just try to stay aware as you fall asleep. Dont loose your awareness and it will happen. Simply fall asleep as you stay aware.

K thx for this but when your in Theta or whatever it is when your in the deep relaxing state to attempt OBE I mean when your totally disconnected can you make your mind come back to think "its time to try and project" ? and if you do is that a risk of breaking the trance or deep relaxed state? I think this too I think I may be so relaxed I am unaware of trying but then I think if I suddenly try and come back to remembering why I am doing the relaxing it will come into my mind to try and exit but I fear by then I would have broken trance. You think it works like that?

You don't get totally disconnected from your mind, only your outer senses. The whole point is to stay conscious as you slip into theta.

I think your are disasociating yourself from your mind too much.  You should stay fully conscious, while you lose feeling in your body. 

When you lose feeling in your body is when I usually get the vibrations.  From that state i can feel and hear the vibrations and i try to increase them to the highest pitch.  Then i usually pop out. 

It sounds like your getting to the point where you can't feel your body, so what your should do is imagine yourself falling.  Try to induce a falling feeling in your mind.  On every out breath feel your body fall, eventually you will really feel like your falling and pop out of your body.

I believe that the entire point of meditating towards projection is solely about "disassociating yourself from...." not your "mind", but your physical body.  You can't disassociate from your mind, because your mind is YOU.

That point when you're beginning to lose awareness of your physical body means you are successfully beginning to disassociate from your body.  :)
Just keep doing that.

what I mean by disassociating your self from your mind is you are  not staying consciously aware of what what your doing.  Your putting yourself to sleep rather than keeping conscious.

My personal suggestion is trying the very moment you wake up (preferably in the early morning). In my case, I often wake up once or twice on a normal night. When you first wake, there is a transition period of about 5-10 seconds (give or take) where your body is still half paralyzed. I generally embrace that feeling as opposed to waking myself up. I keep my eyes closed and relax. I'm not sure I know how to vocalize it, but I have sort of developed an astral sense so to speak. It's like a spirit muscle that helps me to lift off. It generally stems from where the third eye or my heart chakra is. The feeling resembles holding your breath a little too long inducing light headed-ness. Just let yourself go.
