Someone told me I was dreaming

So last night I was in the middle of a dream.  Just a normal dream, I can't remember what was even happening.  But I remember I was in a big tall rectangular room.  I was with two other people who I didn't know.  One person was a guy about my age and the other was a girl about the same age.  We were talking ( not sure about what)  but the guy said to me, well you know we are dreaming now right.  So i thought about it for a second and I could tell that I was dreaming.  Then the guy said " try this" and he flew across the room doing flips up into the opposite corner and flipped back to me.  He said you try to to do it.

I tried to do it, but I wasn't fully conscious enough of myself to fly like i normally can and kind of floated to the corner and back.
Then he told the girl to go and she did a similar thing as me.

Then I woke up to my roommate nocking on my door asking if I wanted to go snowboarding.

The point is normally when I lucid dream I have to figure out that I am dreaming all by myself.  This was the first time ever that someone else has come up to me and said, " hey we are dreaming, check it out".

I was thinking maybe it could have actually been another lucid dreamer this time rather than a projection of my own consciousness.
ANyone here have a dream like that last night? that would be cool

For some reason, I too will often find myself in tall, rectangular rooms. It's odd, isn't it?

Reminds me of Inception  :-D

Sounds cool to have someone help you gain lucidity, but I don't think they were real people also dreaming or projecting.
This fire that has gone out... in which direction from here has it gone?

That is very interesting! I have never had a dream like that nor have a had dreams of tall rectangular rooms. However I find your dream most fascinating can you go into more detail

Well the room was about 200 yards long, by 50 yards wide.  It was like an auditorium or stage for a middle school.  I remember all three of us were standing on the stage.  The walls were off white for about 8 feet up and from there it was about 15 feet of red curtain up to the ceiling.  the kid who told me i was dreaming did about 20 front flips up to the top right corner, and then turned around and did it back to the stage.  Then I muscled my way up to the corner and back just sort of floating while standing.  the girl did the same thing.  its hard to remember much more than that.

astralp,
It sounds like you might have had a consciously aware individual in your immediate area who was trying to help you become lucidly or astrally aware.  :)

I'd take it as a good sign that someone has your best interests at heart.  ;)

yeah thats how i look at it too.  A lot of the times when I AP or become lucid in a dream I try to let other people know as well.  It is a very fine line being able to tell whats real and what is not.  This one felt more real than most.

I've encountered such "beings" as well during my experiences.
It can be hard to discern sometimes what's potentially real and what isn't... but, you are your best judge.  Use your intuition and whatever answer/conclusion you come to, stick with it.  :)

I too have been woken up by someone inside my dream but at least in my case I think somewhere subconsiously I knew I was dreaming because the person who told me I was dreaming didn't know what I was talking about when I asked him about it the next morning lol. Regardless it is definitely cool to have someone help you to become lucid. I was able to turn a dream into a lucid dream and a lucid dream into a full blown projection very easily thanks to someone else telling me I was dreaming :)

There are some practices (teached in so called "esoteric" occidental schools) that make you learn some "tests" you can adopt for this scope.

Gibberish or not, belief structures or not, as always, it doesn't really matters. "Everything that works"..

They can help at beginning, depending on what you care to do.

Thank you for the advice Selea.  :)

I used to have these dreams alot. where someone points out the dream factor. I usually wake up shortly after this. It wasn't just another dreamer in your world. you created this probably. It was just your mind.
