Try drawing up the energy from the feet up through the legs using a sponge tequnique. That is one of the more easy tequniques and could be a good starting point. It is hard at first and you can develop a lot of tension trying to visualise and move the energy. (I know I keep mentioning Astral Dynamics in every post I make but,) if you try reading Robert Bruce's descriptions just before you do the teqnique it can help. Looking throught the pictures in Astral Dynamics it can help visualisation a little more.

patience panabelle. it will develop in time, but only through practice. it took me six months of constantly going into meditative like states and manipulating the energy before i could manipulate it OUT of those meditative like states.

don't be in a hurry, time is an illusion. just do what you do, and keep getting better at doing it. don't be anxious to learn new things or you may ruin the lessons you can learn. [|)]

patience in all things.

"time is an illusion." I think I sorta know what you mean. But could you explain it a little more anyway? Just curious.

I guess that means that there's nothing to do but practice, since I don't do NEW and haven't the faintest clue what sponging is. (No offense, but I like to do things my own way instead instead of following the equivalent of a work-out video for energy development. Oops. I just reread that and it sounds harsher than I mean to be. [:I] You know what I mean though. And hey, to each his (or her[|)]) own.)

Suppose you have a quantity of energy in an initial location. You have chosen a place to move it to. Just concentrate on the second location. When you concentrate on moving the energy by concentrating at the initial location you just keep it there more strongly. Your energy follows your attention.

time is an illusion: well, ya know how some people are like "i've only got so much time on this earth and i'm gonna use it doing what i want to do, and screw the rest of the world" and most others are like that too only without the "screw the rest of the world" part?

don't worry about how much/little time you THINK you have to do stuff in. you could be hit by a bus tommorrow, so what you do today could be a complete waste of your life. but then you could live until you are eighty and you could waste the 60-some years that you still have before you get there. nobody knows when they will die (with the exception of some people), nobody knows much time they have on this planet, so what does it matter if you are wasting it or not?

so instead of having the thought that a person's life revolves around time, learn to understand that time doesn't matter: no one can control time, how much time it takes to do something or how much time you have left to do stuff in. so don't worry about it. don't rush through things because you may think you have so little time to accomplish tasks in, but also don't lounge around thinking that you have so much time (maybe 60-some years) that you can put off everything till later.

just work towards the things you wish to work towards, and don't worry about how long it takes or how quickly you do it. just do it right. it doesn't matter if you do it quickly because you have more time than that to do it in (and if you don't then it is a waste of time anyways), but lounging around and doing nothing means that you accomplish nothing in your life, and that you have no reason to be happy. so forget about all the things that don't need to be done, figure out how to be happy, and do all the things that need to be done in order to make you happy.

that is why time is an illusion: because life doesn't revolve around it eventhough many people think it does.

Ooooooooooh, ok, I get it now. [|)] I've been thinking about that lately, too. I've been trying to forget about time but it's kinda hard when you're still in school, surrounded by teachers who don't realize that I need to work toward my higher purpose instead of writing a report by next Tuesday. [:D] That's why I loooove vacation...

Here's another techinique, I don't know if you've tried it yet:
Fully concentrate on the point you want your energy to go (like your hand, finger, etc.) for a little bit, and once you feel your energy there, visualize it coming out into a ball, or concentrate on the point between your cupped hands (assuming your trying to make a ki ball) and the energy should go there and make a ball.
Hope that helped.[:)]

[:D]I move my energy around by first making the ball, then kinda of making a stick type thing with my ki, (not really a stick, but like something I can connect me and my ki with.) and then just moving it with that. Hope that helps![:D]

Hey kakkarot,

Do you mind if I use that time quote in a philosophy paper I'm writing?  I need to put something like that into words and now I only think of the way you did it.

Ask Douglas Adams, author of A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, instead. I'm not sure if Kakkarot did this on purpose, but it's half of a quote from one of his books: "Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so." The first half is very deep though. [|)]

I need help.

I have been working and working, trying to develop my energy. But all I have to show for it is that I can feel my energy. That's it. Give me fifteen seconds of peace and I can do it. I can become more aware of it in certain places. I can (sometimes) draw it in from around me, although I can only with difficulty keep it with me.

Where I'm having trouble is moving the energy in any way. It just sits there, no matter what visualization I do, what exercises, what movements, nothing. Once or twice, I think I've managed to bring some to my hands while trying to make a ki ball (psi ball, whatever you want to call it), but I couldn't make it leave my hands.

It's very frustrating. I've advanced so far in just feeling it, but I can't get ANYWHERE past that. Please help! Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.
