Greetings da_0ne,

Welcome to the forums.

I have moved this topic to the Metaphysics forum where it belongs [:)]

Here is an excellent article on learning to see aura's.

With best regards,

Adrian.

When you start to see an aura, it is time to relax and stop trying so hard. The more effort you use at this point the harder it will be to see the aura. At this point I usually get dragged into a trance as the colors fill in and the aura fills out before me. It can be really annoying at work in the middle of a conversation when this happens spontaneously. It is easiest to practice on your hands. Put the tips of your index fingers together in front of a plain background. Then slowly pull them apart and look between them. Alternate pulling them apart and pushing them together. You might want to add more fingers or look at the space between them. Anything not covered with clothing is a good place to begin. The idea is to gaze softly at the space around the object or person as though you were actually looking at something much farther away.

thanx for the help, I have another question what happens when your eyes begin to cross. I was doing Concentration exercise 1 at this site  http://www.thiaoouba.com/aura_eye_exercise.htm amd my eyes started to cross is this normal or should u keep from crossing your eyes. Also when they say u see the cross i don't it switches fro one to another but they are overlapping each other.

Tom

The concentration exercise can be done with two images. You can even use your fingers at an angle to each other. The idea is to cross your eyes so that you see both images and a combined image that has both parts equally. It is common in the beginning to have the middle image be alternating images of the two real ones. When you get better they overlap but one is stronger than the other. When you have the combined image from both equally and the two originals and all three are stable, the task is to maintain it for longer. Five minutes is very good. I have heard of doing it for forty minutes or even an hour, but no longer. This exercise is supposed to balance the hemispheres of the brain and increase your energy. It slows the internal dialogue and calms the emotions.

I suggest you practice on peoples heads, its always fun and
educational. Just wait for a person to walk in front of a plain
background and see what surrounds their head.

Good luck

da_0ne

thank you for your help I hope i can achieve my goal i mean i will achieve my goals. but is aura always so hard to picture or can it be seen more clearly with practice

da_0ne

for some reason i do not need to use my fingures i can create this image without using my fingers is this good

Squeek

I think it is.  I've had this too.  When i was like 5, my sister showed me one of those 3d-Art books. At first, i didnt get it.  But, after about a week, I could do it without the nose method (Put your nose directly on the picture, forcing your eyes apart, then move the book away from your face), or the finger one (easily done...)

The basics of this technique is seeing the background rather than what is normally seen.  That's why those 3d art books are so cool!  :)

Im gonna have to go to this site soon....perhaps after i post this  ...  :p

I started to see vague auras by concentrating REALLY hard, but now I'm making much more progress by relaxing.

There used to be this store near me that sold framed 3D art pictures. I used to get them by looking at the reflection off the plastic in front instead of the picture itself.
But what does this have to do with auras?
Oh, right, not having to use fingers. Yeah, I get that too. And as for not seeing the cross, don't worry about it. That's kinda the object of the exercise, to see the whole cross instead of just one bar.

Squeek

It's very hard keeping those two together.  With the books, they match, so they stay.  These do not match!  Its hard to get them to stay in one place!!  Aaarrgh

Bye!

As I have found in many other areas of spiritual/psychic development (phasing/OBE not the least of these), methods taught that suit some, or even many, don't suit all.

The Aural sight training on the Thiaoouba Prophecy sight is very good. It's practical and goes into explaining some of the physiology of our eyesight, which at least helps me better understand what I'm looking at.

If you feel yourself struggling with someones teachings though, get more info from a different source.

Our very own Robert Bruce has an excellent doco on training auric sight that compliments the info on the Thiaoouba site, but goes about some things slightly differently. The link is:

Never be afraid to mix methods in order to find something that works well for you.

James.

panabelle

What books? When did I mention books? Whatever.

I shall be on page 2 even if it kills all my fingers!

goingslow

what is on page 2?

panabelle

Oh, you haven't heard? Me and Squeek are racing. There's a list of members that goes by how many posts people have. I'm at the top of page three; the more posts you have, the lower a page number you're on.

Of course, unlike Squeek, almost all of my posts have either useful advice or profound meaning. <wink wink nudge nudge> Well, they all have one of the above or at least a laugh.

Squeek

Hehe...Panabelle you have no chance.  I'm about to pass auraseer for crying out loud.

And what's with the witty signature that you read off a t-shirt?  :)  I know all of them.  You cant fool me! Only i can fool me!

SO let's talk split image forming...  It's an easy skill to master.  The hard part is to get the images that are NOT the same to come together.  That is pretty difficult.  IF you practice on two identical objects you can get it much faster.  Maybe there's a #D art page out there that I didn't bother to go to.

There.  Pertinent Information.

~Squeek

panabelle

<Makes hurt face> I didn't read it off a T-shirt...I read it on the top of a page in a date book. Not mine though. I don't even bother with those things.

Well I'm changing it now. So there. [|)]

Squeek

I am shocked...  (Takes a bit out of his Krispy Kreme donut)

SHOCKED!

(Hmm this is so good... I love spring break...)

~Squeek

panabelle

Why are you shocked? Because I don't like date books?

Yahoo! It's 84 degrees outside! Weird...two weeks ago it snowed. Whatever!

Squeek

Yea it's WAY too hot out today.  But how does that relate?  Really.

I don't understand how so many aura topics suddenly came up these days.  They're all like the same too.  The author of this one made like 6 others.  Why?  Please tell me why you didn't just make one topic called "Auras" and list your questions in there.

~Squeek

PS panabelle.. try to make them slightly relevant somehow.  It doesn't count if you just reply to EVERY topic with random comments like how hot outside it is...

panabelle

Ok. I'll try. [:)] But how does a Krispy Kreme donut, Spring Break, or shocked relate to auras? Hypocrit...[;)]

Anyway: Yeah, I've noticed the bazillions of aura topics too. There might as well be a whole new forum where that's all people talk about, because it really doesn't have much to do with spiritually advancing and energy development. Well, sort of, on the latter, but not really.

Tom

In one of the books I read, there was (as an example) someone who saw an aura for the first time after having had a few drinks. This person did not believe in auras or energy but was drunk enough to try it anyway when told how to do it. It can help to live with other people who also work with energy or meditate. That was probably a factor, because the person in the example was not prepared for the reality of actually seeing auras. It was frightening.

Derk

Glad to see you are helping Tom.

Max Powers. He's the man, whose name you'd love to touch, but you mustn't touch. His name sounds good in your ear, but when you say it you mustn't fear, 'cause his name can be said by anyone... sorry, i was reading the post and saw Squeek's signature... must say something on-topic, um... i want to see an aura!

Squeek

Ah. Max Power!
Hey, you remembered my name!
*some time earlier*  *Homer walks into cactus*  Do'h!
We should really move that in the corner...

So tom.  In order to see auras i need to get drunk at a college frat party then room up with some experienced users?  Sweet!  I got the beer...now all i gotta do is get 21.  That shouldn't take too long...

I can wait...

~Squeek

Tom

Not quite what I had in mind. What I was trying to say was that alcohol was involved in removing inhibitions against seeing auras while providing relaxation. Sleep deprivation works, too.
