Pulled out of body

I've had 8 conscious OBE's now, and 3 in particular I was actually pulled out of my body... I can't ever really make out what is pulling me, but it appears to be shadow-like. Anyway, during those OBE's I don't seem to be doing the "driving" either. The places I decide to go to, my movements, asking to go back into my body... I don't seem to have much control over any of these things. I say, not much, because I'll think to go back into my body a few times and nothing happens... until the third time, or so. I'll ask to go somewhere and end up going somewhere entirely different and foreign to me. I'll be flying at an insane speed to all these different places... flying about wildly, I can feel myself curling up into a ball, cuz' I can feel my stomach bouncing around, like when you're on a rollercoaster ride. But, again... I don't feel like I'm flying... I feel like something is pulling me along. I always seem to be flying through tunnels alot --- alot of times it looks like I'm flying through a vessel (artery, vein)... other times it's just dark, I can see things peripherally, but we're goin' so fast, it's a blur. At one point, we'd stop in the middle of outer space... I can see stars and galaxies all around. Then we'd whoosh off and I'm in some "other world"? It had blue skies, green grass, and white clouds like Earth... but I saw this huge structure that was definitley not something you would see here, it was really grand and the view was serene. These places (there were more) were just from this most recent OBE I had... about 2hrs. ago.
Ultimately, my question of course, is if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this? And incidentally, what benefits have any of you garnered from OBEing?

Ive heard that control come with experience...
Sometimes I want to fly faster but I cant...my OBEs sometimes have slow mo moments, When I have a blind OBE sometimes I have to ask for vision a few times before I can see and even if I spin around really fast and shout out where I want to go I don't end up in the right place....

I have learnt to just go with it...

I've had hundreds of OOBEs and mine are very similar to yours. If I raise my hand and ask to be pulled out I often feel a hand pulling me out (though I rarely do this since I prefer the rope climbing technique).

When I'm out, I also ask to go places but rarely go where I ask to go - instead I feel myself zooming off (like I'm flying through the air but I'm not making an effort) and am in a dark gray/black space/tube and then come to a sudden stop and am at my destination. (I don't feel any discomfort so yours may stop with practice.)

When I feel like someone is taking me (they take my hand or shoulder), these tend to be the best destinations and then I find myself being able to revisit them again by myself. My favorite is the outer space scene you describe (although the first time I was concerned about getting back to my body). Speaking of getting back to your body, I never have any trouble, I just shake myself physical self awake.

The large structure and meadow might be an F3 destination, especially if it was very vivid and stable. (Sometimes I have the space experience before an F3 location.)

Nice to hear how similar our collective experience is.

Out of curiousity- once you are out of your body in the RTZ, if you're just standing there in your house - do you feel "alone" then? Or does it feel like the "shadow" is still there with you?

Also - how do you decide where to go to and how do you go about trying to get there? I suspect that most people, like me, even after getting out of my body can't choose to go somewhere and then go to exactly that place. Typically, when I've gone from RTZ to somewhere else I've either just found myself there (I think via losing lucidy and suddenly not being in my house anymore) or else I go outside, look up at the night sky and just shoot upward - and then ultimately end up somewhere pretty unpredictable.

So, I don't think your experiences per se are different than most, but what sounds different is your feeling that you're not the one in control. I've never felt that there was someone else controlling what happens to me.

It is a kind of a relief to hear that your experiences have some similarities to mine. That just may help to set me more at ease when I'm being whooshed around.

Regarding your question about feeling like I'm alone in the RTZ... here's an excerpt from the journal I've been keepin'.

5th OBE:
Sleep paralysis --- vibrating --- gave in. RAO position again... difficulty exiting my body. Noticed a shadowy figure standing next to me, but I wasn't afraid... for some reason I thought it resembled me. Seemed to be helping me out of my body. I floated upward to my ceiling. And then I'm cruising through different tunnels, each with a different appearance (some dark, and some bright).

As far as requesting a destination... I will just say it in my head (I think it's something I picked up online --- being able to go wherever you please), and there's been several times that I did.

Not being in control of my movements, especially while flying, but also when I'm floating around my ceiling in my bedroom... I probably just don't know how to move around... I usually feel like I'm floating in the prone position.

same for me, it's harmless ... and helpful

but there are two versions, the hand, and then another one with the firm grip around the ankles, which startled me when it first happened, but when I finally asked her to take my hand she "obeys" and takes my hands then ... actually, I think it's (literally!

) 'handy' and pretty awsome too being led around by a kind of 'coach'

My very first experience with OOB was being grabbed by the ankles and pulled out, it felt like i was being sucked through a straw, which scared the hell out me and i quickly resisted and woke up! maybe if my hand was grabbed i would have reacted differently! but i had known very little/nothing at the time...

It sounds to me that the dark figure maybe your higher self trying to show you something. Next time you see the shadow figure ask it "What do you represent?" and it will be forced to answer or flee

Well... its funny to some extent!!!!! I ALWAYS WAS PROGRAMED when i was young that if you believe ur in control you will be! Not just AP but possession, evil beings... etc... DEMAND ur destination with will and faith...
but like the last poster said... it could be your higher self! U still need control! just take it! Faith is the most powerful thing in both worlds IMHO! BELIEVE AND RECEIVE! happy travels

the huge structure was white(ish) and shaped similar to the Arch in St. Louis... there were windows along its length and this thing was HUGE!

Had this feeling a lot of times. its a huge woosh sensation also. I have felt like i have been laying on my front when this happened. Yet physically i was laying on my back. I had this today infact, and before the woosh i was starting to her a lot of voices shouting something at me.
