Hi there!

Before I start digging around in this forum like some psycho in search for the key to astral projection I think I should introduce myself!

Im a 21 years old artist/writer and have only for a few years been interested in lucid dreaming and astral projection. I cant say I've had much experience with it, but I can say I have some pretty vivid dreams from time to time, occasional lucid dreams .. and I miiight have fumbled around on the astral sometime (cant say for sure as I've never projected consciously) but I aim to learn it properly  so I can do it frequently and at will...

but I'm a bit confused about the difference between astral projection and lucid dreaming because some dreams i've had has felt and looked so real that I could almost swear I was standing in a different world!

I really love to read and talk about these things so I joined this forum. I'm quite surprised that so many on this forum have had experience with astral projections. Most forums I've found this far have only had a few people on them who "almost" managed to do it. Or maybe the experts just didn't want to talk about it :D

Thats it I guess, now I will try and read through all the forum sections... unless there is something else you want to know before I drown in all the awesomeness!

bye everyone!

Hello,
The line between astral projection and lucid dreaming overlaps in my opinion. Some people will say there is no difference and some will say there is a clear difference. No-one here can seem to agree on what to use the words for. You'll have to make your own mind up. You'll find quite a few threads with everyone giving their opinions.

But yeah, I've had dreams that I'd swear somehow felt more real than real life.

Welcome to the pulse :-)

from what I understand, Astral projection and lucid dreaming are the same destination, just two different routes to get there. Welcome :)

For the most part, this is my view as well.
Some would say that you have a dream... you have a lucid dream... you have an astral projection.  I don't agree with that at all, it's not an external event that's happening to you.  I say that you have a dream awareness... you have a lucid awareness... you have an astral awareness.

I don't see these experiences as something you do... I see them as a state of mind you're in.  I see the difference being how consciously aware you are.  It's all in relation to YOU... your consciousness.

Is your subconscious mind in full control?  Then you have a dream awareness.
Is your conscious mind in full control?  Then you have an astral awarness.
Is there a combination of the two in control?  Conscious/Subconscious?  Then you have some form of a lucid awareness.
