MJ-12, you beat me to it! [;)]

Sublime, the points the Michael Moore is talking about are unfounded and he is a liar. I believe our society is violent because of high amounts of stress and great expectations on the fast pace day to day life. The issue about guns is just a symptom of the problem, not the actual problem.

Take care all.

I think Moore is an idiot.  I hadn't seen him as mad as he was the night of the Oscars since he was charged for two seats on a Southwest flight!

the point of the movie was to demonstrate that guns are NOT the problem.  anyone who thought this was an anti-gun documentary missed the point with larger implications.  moore was trying to convey how society is based on FEAR in this country, and how fear eventually leads to control.

one thing i remember...
when crime in this country went down a certain percentage (say, 30%), the amount of violence and crime portrayed on the evening news increased by 200%.

Moore is a genius.  And the fact he ticked of NRA members and braindead bible thumpers proves it to me.  If you ever tinkle off die hard fearful NRA members and these religious zealots you're definitely speaking truth.

Not always but mostly.. I've never seen people more full of hate when a person is progressive.

He has balls.. Im sure bush supporters and war mongers would love nothing more than to put him in prison.  Its funny because people bitched about clinton non stop but now if you talk about bush you're unamerican.

If anyone's an idiots its people in those two groups.

We had this discussion on another forum I go to.  I asked how many people had actually watched the documentary.  1 out of 30 or so people did.  Most got their information from places like that link mj12 put up.

I had to laugh at that.  Someone saying "educate yourself" and talks about all opposition to Moore's work as being due to the substance.

I dont know how many people I've heard hate it because they feel its anti guns.

Conservatives vote for bush he's in their party.  Just because you like seeing things in Nazi fascist vs.. (what?) terms instead of political parties and those who support eachother thats fine.  Its not logical nor is it an educated view.  Not many in america belong to a Nazi/fascist party.  HOwever there is a huge group that supports bush/ voted for him; and defends him non stop.  And no they're not "fascist followers" they're republicans.

Just because you've chosen to be ridiculus and use the word fascist to describe things that go against your beliefs; dont assume the rest of the world follows.  And please dont pretend to be intelligent but state "all opposition is on the substance" especially when its obvious you think its anti gun.

Fascism was a type of leadership that certain countries have.  He behaves like a dictator in his decisions but he isn't a fascist.  More and more that term is used by conspiracy theorists and people who think no government would be a solution to all our problems.  Its starting to be meaningless. Especially when you use it to describe people who dont have the lust for owning guns you do.

BTW in your reply you made it obvious one reason you dont like bush is you dont feel he protects your god given right to carry arms (coughs).

Also in mentioning "fascist gun control" lobby you also made it claer i waas right. the people he pisses off are gung ho NRA members who view any attempt to take away your guns as evil. Thats why you dont like him.

Bush isn't pushing enough for guns huh? and if anything its fascist and stupid its NRA members who pretend talk about being mindless. That cracked me up.. an NRA spokesperson saying its actually the substance. At least the pro gun person before you was honest. You're the one that needs to educate yourself.. but first put down your gun and get out of the NRA. Its stopping you from thinking for yourself.

Its amazing how you can have 1000 movies filled with violence and glorification of guns; and have no controversy.  But you have one documentary which talks about fear adn you have all these lobbies ticked of and actually hating the person who created the film.  Like i said i think rubbing that brand of people the wrong way is a good thing.

If fundamentalist christians and gun toting morons  liked my views i'd rethink everything i stood for.

sublime

I just recently saw the movie/documentary by Michael Moore "Bowling For Columbine". It has to be in my top 3 favorite movies now... I agreed with every single point about Americans and fear/gun control I thought the movie was well done, the interviews were humerous at times and the points made were valid and shocking. I apologize if anyone has already had a post on about this movie because I know it's been out since October but I was just wondering if anyone has seen it and what they thought of it?
