Hello guys!

Been away for a while since I've been very busy, but have been reading a book on   APing. I understand how to astral project but just not how to tell the difference between if I've done a WILD or AP. However, there is something that I've noticed, sometimes when the vibrations have ceased I feel like a WILD has been done but, feel like I weight a ton. Almost like I'm glued to the bed, upon trying to get up (with is really difficult) sometimes I'm partially blind. Was this experience an astral projection? Did I not seperate right?

Please do answer, this has been bugging me for quite a while and I would like to get down to the bottom of it.

EDIT: I have tried to look back at my bed, but never got that far since I was partially blind the last time. I have done so during a WILD but seen nothing there.

Partial sight def sounds like a projection in those circumstances. Try shouting, "Light!", "Clarity now!", "Full awareness!", or some such thing. It can work.

Sometimes closing my eyes can help separation for me. It might remover the heavyness. Just keep your eyes closed and get as far away from your body as you can. After a certain distance you sight will come  back without having to open your eyes.

Hallo Lucidmage
What you have been experiencing are Probably OBEs. Yet they may be false awakenings. A false awakening is where a person thinks that they are awake but they actually still dreaming.
The Only way you can be certain is to become more lucid/awake/conscious during the experience.
You can try the affirmations that blis suggested, they may work. I suggest that 1) you ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" If you answer yes then it Is a false awakening (which can easily be transitioned into either a lucid dream or an OBE).
2) Try doing something impossible in the waking world. Either hold your nose and try to breath or stretch your arm/hand out an extra foot. If either is possible then you have become lucid.
Remember that the line between a lucid dream and an OBE is Very thin. Perhaps the only real difference is the person's state of mind.  That means that it Is important to decide whether you want to experience a lucid dream or an OBE.

Thanks for the replies.

100% sure they were not false awakenings because, I knew that I wasn't in the waking world. I just didn't know whether the experience was an OBE OR WILD. I forcing the experience to end because of what happened.

You can tell if you're in an LD or projecting by the feel of it. If it feels dreamy and you don't have a full conscious control, than it's an LD. If it feels realistic with hightend senses, than it's an OBE.

Boom

Had an experience today that might help you.

I had an afternoons kip, with AP definately on the brain. I woke up a bit, became aware and then tried to get up. it was really hard to get up. I felt very heavy. But I did basically manage it.  Thing is, i wasnt really getting up. I was still asleep. I was lucid.  But I just imagined i was getting up and then it was really feeling like I was.

I was then flying through some kinda strange dark tunnels. It was dark, so i was shouting for clarity now, lights now. But it didnt seem to work. I then ended up dreaming again and had a bizzare dream about someones laptop. But then I became aware again and fully astral projected into my mothers kitchen. I was like here we go. I was there. It was clear, and good.  Then literally within 1 second of being there. Bang, I was back :(

So that was good. 2 months without an astral projection and I finally get one.. for 1 second!!!  Ah well better than half a second :)

If you have to question what it was it probably wasnt.

If you have one you will know 100% what it was.

If you feel like your glued to the bed, thats paralysis and this means your still controlling your body. Leave the body.

Is astral project while you're asleep or napping, or when you're consciously trying it? Or both? I am guessing there are varying degree of dreaming

Hallo Aplles
You asked
QuoteIs astral project(ion) while you're asleep or napping, or when you're consciously trying it? Or both? I am guessing there are varying degree of dreaming

The answer is Both. You can spontaneously go out of body when asleep, either at night or during a daytime nap. You can also deliberately induce an OBE. The deliberate OBEs are almost always done during the Hypnagogic state which is the half awake and half asleep state just before or after nighttime sleep. Deliberate OBEs can also be induced from meditation although this is relatively rare.

Cheers  :-)
