I wish I knew of a place like that.

Nick

biggymatt,

In the 90's I spent a lot of time at the Zen Center of Los Angeles, usually I'd drive down on a Saturday from Ventura and spend the afternoon. However, a number of people were actually residents. They paid a small sum for a lttle apartment right on the grounds of the Zen Center.

The reason I mention this is b/c the residents seemed to have the need to spend some time in a community of like-minded people. While it wasn't my cup of tea, they felt that it was beneficial to them.

So, perhaps there is something like that in your area.

Thanks for the info Nick I will have to look into it.  The only problem is LA is very far from here, if anyone has heard of anything closer to the east coast please let me know.  If I have to go to LA I will but would like to look closer first.

Well thanks for the link timeless I am going to look into this.  But actually I was talking more of a retreat type thing.  Somewhere I can go away from the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life.  Somewhere where I can interact with others who also project, or are just working on their spirituality in general.  Somewhere where we can gather and discuss our experiences and learn from each other.

P.S.  Do not reply if the place your thinking of has a insane leader who expects us to drink funny smelling punch and die.

Spirituality is only a coping tool.

Tom

Psychotherapy is a coping tool. It is about learning more in order to fit in better and feel more comfortable.

Spirituality is about chipping away false and distorted views, at first. Then it is about chipping away the truest of your beliefs until nothing is left. It requires no new learning. It does not require travel.

Does anyone know of a place I can go to in order to get away from everyhing in order to explore my spirituality.  Preferably a place with other like minded people like myself.  I feel as if I am trapped in this society I live in and just need some time away.
