So last night i wanted to try to astral project or get an OBE.  So i told myself that i would be awake in my dreams and i started to lucid dream.  I had a lot of dreams but when i stoped dreaming and lifted myself out of my body i opened my eyes and saw my room.  Here is the part i dont get... The light was on when i went to bed but when i went out of my body the light was off.  Everything was in its exact position.. i even threw my socks on the ground and didn't look at them but they were in the same spot when i woke up.  I dont know if this was just another lucid dream I was having or i was actually having an OBE but maybe in a lower darker astral plane??  I was scared when i did it so maybe thats why everything was darker and creepier.

I'd call that your first OBE. Congrats.

I wouldnt worry about things like lighting.

To answer the question of the thread,
QuoteDid I astral project last night?
YES, you did!
Or, to be more specific, its likely that you had an OBE, meaning that you Were out of body but did not travel very far and remained in the familiar confines of your room. (Astral projection is usually believed to be out of body travel to exotic non-physical locations that Don't have a physical counterpart.)
But enough of that.
I don't believe you had a lucid dream or traveled to a dark lower astral realm. The anomaly with the light being off is what is known as  'reality fluctuations', which are slight differences between physical and astral/ethereal locations. Usually these fluctuations are minor, as in the case of the light, or for example, an extra window or door being in a room or extra furniture being there, etc. Most OBEers have experienced these fluctuations at one time (myself included). It is really no big deal. So don't let that be a worry in future OBEs.
