One of my friends that i know she has certain episodes where excrement like this happens;

She was sitting down on her kitchen table while talking to her mum and all of a sudden she kind of zones out and her mother asks her whats wrong and she replies with "What?" and after a little she will come back to her senses kind of thing and then act normal?

She says shes feels like shes missing something inside her like an empty space says she hasn't been her self lately, anyone have any wisdom on what this might be?

Unfortunately, it's not really much to go on.

And unfortunately still, our English language is horrible for trying to come up with the words to describe what she's experiencing in a manner which we can understand it.  So she's probably struggling with that.

"She feels like she's missing something inside her"
That's her interpretation for what she's directly experiencing, and I think you can agree that it's hard to consider what that is if you're not also "directly" experiencing it.  Maybe she's just "longing" for spirituality or something along those lines... as I said, it's almost impossible to know.

Does she do any drugs? I'm not assuming or judging, I'm just ruling it out.

Hi,
Was she part of a set of twins ?
This is quite common if only one gets born.
There's far more where the eye can't see.

i've had 'similar' experiences myself, but as Ryan said, it's not much to go on. i have completely zoned out sometimes for periods of 30 seconds or more, and its as if i just stare at a single point on the wall. sometimes it's as if i've almost lost consciousness completely before i come back to. the experiences varies though when your friend can actually reply with 'what?'. personally i'm either totally unresponsive, or feeling like a goose when someone starts shaking my shoulder!
"She says shes feels like shes missing something inside her like an empty space says she hasn't been her self lately, anyone have any wisdom on what this might be?" i feel a very similar confusion when this happens. i would say i feel very vacant, and it almost makes you feel like your not yourself cos you don't seem to be totally aware all the time, as if something deep is troubling you, however, that may not be the case at all.

the way i ultimately describe it (for myself), is that its like stopping for a breath, and just wanting a still moment, yet the time and the entire universe just keep rushing by you

I used to do this a lot from the ages of 11 to about 14, and then it stopped.  My friends used to make fun of me because I was always zoning out.  At some point I learned to concentrate on paying attention to my surroundings and I got better- by will.   I believe it's a sign of just being introverted, to tell you the truth.  But I suppose it could be something else if she can't learn to control it.

Stookie; Nop she doesn't .. only weed rarely though

Szaxx: Nop she isn't that i know of anyway

Pred, CTF: Thanks for your reply guys, very informative and ill tell her about it see what she thinks

Also about the zoneing out... i sometimes get this too and been getting it a little bit recently

I'll be listening to a music that i just pressed play on and i would look left or at something else then come back and the song has already finished but time felt like it had only been a couple seconds? It is like i forgot about that whole moment and have no memory of it or anything, really weird and scary too some point
