I havent had an OBE in a while, even though I attempt one daily, but I started being able to see things while my eyes are closed. Actually, I find this very fascinating because its very easy, moments after I close my eyes whenever I go to bed, I start to see my room, I find this very bizare and amazing, it gets clearer and clearer, I constatnly keep stopping my OBE Attempt because I think my eyes are opening when they are not. I wave my hands in front of my face and I can see every motion my fingers are doing, Can I use this to trigger an OBE?

I used to experience this but as "remnants" of a projection after the fact, so I don't see why not. Maintaining absolute focus on the images as they unfold is key.

CFTraveler

This used to happen to me all the time, either right before a projection or all by itself.
It hasn't in a long time.
Once I realized what was happening (I call it etheric sight) it sort of stopped happening often and now it happens very rarely.

Cool. I think I've been having the same thing lately. I start to be able to see my wall, but I usually attribute it to my eyes starting to open. Then I wiggle my eyelids a little and they are closed. Very weird experience. Now that I know it happens to other people I'll try to just let it happen and not question whether or not my eyes are open. Maybe that will help with the process.

Yes you can. I would have to agree with and reiterate Astral's advice on just maintaining your focus on the images you see with your eyes closed. This way of seeing is an excellent platform to dive into consciousness when utilized. You might be interested in purchasing/making one of those masks that people put over their eyes to sleep. I feel that wearing this would help you tremendously just in knowing that your eyes are in fact closed and staying closed therefor allowing you to proceed with more confidence until you feel comfortable without it.

Close your eyes and just relax for a minute just taking in everything you can see, just observing, just being in the moment. When you feel comfortable you could try switching your focal point (called POV [point of view] in Remote Viewing lingo) within the scene in front of you. Once you make this subtle (yet at first shocking) transition of changing your POV to a location that is not behind your eyelids the environment should then become relatively effortless to navigate.

The need for a corporal state is not necessary to experience reality in this state of consciousness however most people will still feel a body when they switch their focus to this state. The reason for this has to do mainly with the fact that most of us humans are quite comfortable and accustomed to being in a body and find it extremely difficult to imagine not being in one. I would also bet that that along with the technique used to induce the switch of focus are the two main roles at play here. This is also (in my own humble opinion of course) one of the confusing factors to the on-going disagreement of whether phasing, astral projection and OBE are the same thing. As I said, a body is not a requirement in this state. Most of us will create a body of energy for our awareness to inhabit however this is just out of pure habitual action rather than actual necessity and this body is composed of the same fluid subtle energy that your "astral" environment is made of that you navigate in. The boundaries of this energy body are also made of this same subtle energy that it is separating. It's like water separating water (water of the same density that is). Basically what is happening is that your awareness is expanded to about the rough shape and size of the feel of your physical body, but that's all it is is awareness, nothing more, no real barrier unless you perceive it to be, and then it can seem very real for as long as you let it. You can choose to put these boundaries around yourself in the form of a body or you can choose not to but don't confine yourself if you really don't need to. I would say it is a waste of energy but it would seem almost like a paradox in an environment of seemingly endless amounts of energy. Perhaps I will just say that it is a waste of attention (but maybe that is saying the same thing ultimately).

Good luck in your endeavors! Keep us updated on your progress.

All the best,

dotster, if you dispense with the body image and assume point-consciousnes, are you (yourself personally that is) able to see using 360 degree vision? Just wondered. A point of consciousness needn't have a "forward" or "backward".

happened few times to me ussualy after when i wake up from dreaming. I see things with same forms and shapes , but they sometimes have different colors and makes very interesting view :) . Also i had an experience when i saw a strangely moving hand in front of me and i dont exactly remember, but it looked like my hand.

So the question is. Are you seeing your room as it stands, literally as though your eyelids have become see through. Or are you just seeing remnants of your memory of the room?

Its worth trying to work out by experimentation exactly what you are seeing.

I've had a similar thing in a way. Not so much seeing but feeling. I could be laid there and I would all of a sudden feel like im back in the bedroom i grew up in as a kid. I would (with my eyes closed) look around the room seeing all its main distinguished features. It really felt like I was there.. That is until I opened my eyes and I was still in my normal room.

NoY

I had a plant in front of a cupboard door and everyday i would move it open the door then move it back

one day i got astral sight and when i looked over at the cupboard there were 5 plants in front of it
moving it each day created more of them

To be honest, I cannot even fathom being able to see in 360 degree's from one singular point (again because I'm a human and I'm quite accustomed to seeing in one general direction, peripheral not extending beyond a rough 180 degrees of view). I'm not saying it's not possible, just that I have never experienced it. If it happens to me spontaneously though I will let you know. One really bizarre experience I had which is kind of the opposite, yet seemingly almost the same (?) happened to me once where I'm assuming what happened was my "body" or "awareness" was spread out to about the size of my whole house it felt like, and I could just "feel" my whole house and everything inside it PERFECTLY. It was one of those dramatic experiences that you have that you never forget. My "sight" was still in one perceived location-direction though. I'm sorry I couldn't answer your question but I hope I've helped in some way at least.

When people report seeing through closed eyelids is it actually real? has anyone ever tried to test it say by viewing something through your closed eyelids which you did not know what it was beforehand? then wake up later and check to see if what you say was really there.

I can't help thinking this can't be real as if it were then science would be taking a lot more notice of it.

Yes, and they have, they call it "hallucination".
Just because I say I saw what was there (I've done it in the daytime while laying down outside, and I was able to open my eyes and see it was what I was seeing) doesn't mean that it can be 'proven'.  And, since for a claim to be 'proven' according to the rules of science it has to be repeatable and predictable, it's just not possible-at least not by me.  So, if you've tested it for yourself you see how it is, whether someone else believes it or not.

few times when i seen through my eyelids i opened my eyes and saw things exactly as through eyelids (or at least shapes and forms).
