Has anyone been to the Etheric and found it a water world instead of an air world - so to speak.

I went there and found myself and room full ofwater, slightly lighter then usual but i felt like I was only a few inches across.

Let me put forth a possible explanation.
The physical body often 'interferes' with the astral senses during an OBE. This might be what happened to you.
Instead of going into detail about this phenomena I will instead refer to the works of Robert Crookall. Crookall was a British geologist who became fascinated by OBEs and began studying them in the 1960s. He wrote several books on OBEs and astral projection. Crookall read Many OBE accounts by people who encountered similar watery or foggy conditions (almost always in their bedrooms near their physical body) during OBEs. Crookall gave this watery/foggy condition a special name (which I can't quite remember now but it was something like the 'body-veil' condition). His theories about this made a lot of sense to me but it is too complex a subject to go into detail here. So if you are interested I suggest do a Google search for Robert Crookall and search for his books. They are well worth reading.

I've had two different instances in which the water-environment phenomenon happened.
The first instance (that has happened various times) has been in the hypnagogic state, in which I have seen my environment as if it was full of water.  Not water-ish, but literally as if you had filled it with water, like a pool, where you see the edge.  This has happened various times and once or twice I have seen someone with water up to their waist or neck (depending on the time.)  Don't know if it's some sort of subconscious pun, but it hasn't happened much lately.
The second instance I was out of body, went through a wall and ended up in an astral plane, which was as if the air was water-ish or jello-ish, and movement was impeded.  How I interpreted this was that my energy body was either 'too in-synch' with the environment (astral, not etheric) and had trouble going through things, (including it's own space); or that it was so out of synch it was difficult to gather information and was registering that way.
That one has only happened once or twice though.

ps. @ Grey:  I'm going to look up Crookall.  Which book do you recommend when it comes to theorizing?

Hi,
Loooong ago I found myself in a small room thick with fog, not too unlike less dense water. I didnt like the feel of it and made a doorway appear. This led me into a strange place. It was warm and foggy but only  21 feet across, it stretched for eternity in the other directions yet it was parallel. Instinct also told me to get across it fast to the other wall. On feeling my way at the wall I found an old embossed picture frame. I fell through it and on the other side it was beautiful. The exit appeared on this side as a mirror and thankfully it was solid. The rest was a flight in this perfect realm enjoying the scenery.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Thanks for the replies.

I generally go into th etheric at least once a week and I usually start out from laying in bed, which is where i was in this sequence. I could breathe but when I shouted my voice came from above me.

Looking up Crookall now.
