hi all , i am new to oobe, consciously anyway , but for the last few years i,ve been waking up to me kicking at the end of my bed and seeing a black figure there, one of the first times it happened i started kicking the wall and cut up my foot i was freaked out so much , then about 6 months ago i did the same thing , started kicking but this time i felt calm and focused at the end of the bed and there was a tall old man with a beard stand there blurred at first but then from the ground up became as vivid as anything i the room there was a quarts heater running so there was decent light  plus the moon was out . i was totally calm on my elbows looking at this man. i stared at him for 10 second, then lay back down to sleep. next day i told my girlfriend and freaked her out but it was so calming and non threatening, after that i started looking into astral and oobe info reading robert monroes far journeys , then bill buhlmans journeys out of the body not a few chapters into buhlmans book he describes a very similar old man and goes on to say many people have seen him in their travels, i have always been a spiritual person but i really feel a pull to do this and learn how to go deeper into these realities which brings me to my issues , i have been meditating for a few months now and my dream recall is the best its ever been then i purchased gateway discovery hemisync and get to deep relaxation but i either fall asleep or get to the end and feel really good but cant leave my body on the discovery sleep can anyone help with my issue or recommend should i stick to this one before moving on or what other teqs people have , sincerely eoin.

 Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse eoin. Try a comfortable chair in another room other than the bedroom. All your life you have trained yourself that your bed is for sleeping. This will help you put things into context as you jump from teacher to teacher and from POV to POV. Remember everyone is trying to say the same thing, just from different perspectives. Everyone gave good advice and now I'm going to add my two cents to it:  If you fall asleep at the end, get up before your usual wake up time and then try whatever technique you are using.  I also recommend you keep whatever technique you picked at least a month before you decide something different.
