Been practicing how to astral project for a couple of weeks now and have semi achieved it three times.
1st time i was practicing the rocking techinique going side to side to get out, and i as i rocked myself out my body, my astral body fell off the bed to the floor, and it felt so realistic that it jolted me awake. 2nd time i was meditating had perfect buzzing sounds, and i felt i was getting sucked out through my stomach and that i was floating above the bed but for the sensation of flying scared me and i woke up. Today was my third, i havent been to lucky in achieving astral, but i have been having a blast with lucid dreaming, training myself to recognise dreams and trying to control it. i was in a very vivid dream, having fun but i started to lose control and was getting frightening and saw strange people, thats when i tried to wake up and i couldnt. i would wake up in another dream so i began to panic and i finally woke up and sat up, but i was in astral. It scared me because my front half was out of body but my bottom wouldnt, i tried to wiggle myself out but my fear was escalating and i started to feel a horrible presence. so i decided to just get back in my body, i had a hard time, i felt like had to align myself and feel my self melting into my body to get back in. than slowly move each limb before i could get out of bed.

Anyone have any tips to stop getting so scared,  i really would love to find my spiritual guide, i definitely cant have my first time alone.

Wish I had the answer. But like you, I am new to this, and have yet to make a true journey. I think it's best to let go of all fears, and just go with it, and trust that all will be fine. Breaking through, and exiting completely has been my greatest challenge. I think in the begining, the noises and sensations can be so over-whelming, that our lack of experience can hold us back. Good luck to you though, hopefully someone can share some tips.

ok so you have been out several times. this is good. i guess for you being scared or fearing something is normal. you know when you walk down a really dark hallyway and you dont know the place very well and you get that strange feeling in your gut and then your head starts to fill in the scary blanks. ok if you know what i am talking about i will continue. this dark hallway seniro is just like being in the astral. you are in a new place were anything can happen. you got scared and thought there was a bad pressance cuz you created it. you will learn to control this. this controll comes when you see how much fun you can have in the astral. so to put it in lamen terms. the dark hallway is your first couple adventurs into the astral and at the end of that hall way is a huge amusment park were you control everything. so get out and have fun. also the presence you felt could have been your guide. u just have never had a feeling like that and thus made it as out to be bad.

your guide will come to you when you are ready and wont be freaked out. you may feel him/her around while you are doing things but you may not see him/her. in time you will when you are ready and wont have a freak out haha.
is it bad when your dreams are better than real life!

Try reading something inspirational before projecting and before going to bed.
Recall a warm and deeply moving event from your past and fill your awareness with it.
Fill your consciousness with "peace on Earth goodwill towards men" type ideas.
Beware the fake "seeker" who finds Truth to be abusive.

Try your attempts in a sunbeam.

I know this sounds corny, but I have had my fair share of awesome and terrible OBE's and I have never had a bad one while laying in a sunbeam. Even if not in a sunbeam, if it's sunny out and your fairly near outside, this seems to work as well.

This is not grounded in any logic or proof except a pattern that has been consistent with me. It's worth a shot.

Cheers,

P.S. All early morning OBE's usually fit into this catagory.
