K so I lay down and get comfortable and start listening to a binural beat (one that is clear and good quality) I do this for 45 - 50 mins  I do get very relaxed and chilled and "lost" so to speak but nothing ever becomes of it.  I am hoping I could at least get a little dissociated from my body to try and eventually project but I never do. I never get close! does anyone else use these things? how much luck do you have with binural beats which aid in projecting? and what am I doing wrong?

Hi,
By your post the beat has done its job.
They help you to relax and calm your mind by training your brainwaves to a specific frequency. There's a few for different effects.
If you think listening to these will magically transport you to some otherworldly location then, no, not a chance. Unfortunately theres sales hype thats convincing but these beats don't even activate the required part of the brain for this at all.
The relaxed state you get to is the first step in your experience. Its not the last or close to it. You are doing fine though and will succeed in your endeavor.
Have you read much on this subject?
A good question to ask as the next step is based on your answer.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Hello Tongo, I use Binaural Beats/Isochronic Tones everyday when I do a Phase Session. They are meant to aid you in disassociating your focus from your physical body. I lie back and relax, then just notice the darkness before my eyes until I feel a shift in my awareness has occurred. From that point you can create any visualization that you wish, I like to do do some kind of active sport. Take shooting a basketball for instance. At first you are just mentally shooting a basketball. There is nothing in your hands, you are still in the 3d darkness at this point. You are just mentally going through the motions. You keep this up for awhile, then all of a sudden you may be able to see the basketball or feel it in your hands. You start to feel yourself going through the motions of shooting the basketball. Stay with this, pretty soon you will see the net you are shooting at, then the court you are playing on. Widen your view peripheral view now and try to see what else is happening here. Smell the air, join the scene. Congratulations you are now Phasing!  :-)
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

They don't really work for me either. They keep me awake.

I look at them as a crutch. IMO, There is no shortcut to disciplining your mind to perform advanced mental acrobatics.

Cheers,

Sorry for the late reply, I just had to replace my computer, the old one died on me.  I have found more success with these 2 back to back MP3 tracks then anything else I have tried. The first one is called Alpha-Level-5, it is a Binaural Beat and can be downloaded free at this site. http://binaural-beats.org/index.php. The second played back to back is named Astral Vibrations, it is a Isochronic Tone found in DJ Vishnu's Meditation Series. For some reason these 2 Tracks play great together and have yielded me with plenty of successful Phase Sessions.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

You played them both at the same time? O.O
Or did you do Alpha Level 5 first, finish that, then go to Astral Vibrations?

This may be a shorcut, searh for, lucidoloy101, using hipnotic fractionation to induce sleep paralisis and have lots of lucid dreams or oobe, is the best method I have used so far.

Alpha Level 5 first, then Astral Vibrations after it.

i listened to this one today while sitting upright in my computer chair with my eyes closed and some basic breathing techniques. within the 20 minutes I had some 'imagery' where i found myself in one of my old friends backyard. It was nothing extreme and not an obe, but just some basic imagery. I've just started getting into using binarual beats and sometimes it feels like they're not doing anything, but once you open your eyes you realize how tired or asleep your body really was

Hello Justin. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed this Binaural Beat. Very tranquil and I found it easy to jumpstart the creative visualization process. This Bin Beat led me to a peaceful river bank scene. I prefer Binaural Beats with background music much more than Bin Beats that are solo. They give you a focus target.  :-)

Sounds cool Lion glad I could help. This was actually my first binaural beat with background music and it did work better than the other times I have tried using them without it

If you like those try one of the Binaural Beats by Paul Collier. I like 2012, Defragment the mind, Song 54, Taken up in the sky and Facing the Unknown. they can all be found here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5ox2GzWnJw&feature=BFa&list=PL48627FA5F1896833&shuffle=361548
