For those who have had trouble understanding the concept behind the famous Double Slit Experiment (I know I am one of them), I saw this explanation on a episode of the History2 Channel's The Universe. The episode is called "The Microscopic Universe". The entire Universe Series is a fantastic show that really helps define complex explanations into easier descriptions that anyone can understand. You don't have to be a Physic's major or a Rocket Scientist to enjoy these. They did a fantastic job with the Double Slit experiment in this episode. See so for yourself!
Enjoy!  :-)

Thanks for the link.  I do not get cable and the thing I miss most are the documentary channels.  I get Hulu and antenna TV so I still get PBS (they were the documentary kings long before cable)

Check out the Charlie Rose brain series.  His show is available on Hulu and currently there is one from the brain series available.  For those of you reading this later the brain series may or may not be currently available on Hulu as the expire things faster than they put them up :?. However if the Charlie Rose show is still on Hulu you could try subscribing in case they run it again)

Hi,
I managed to watch this, not through the link, on my phone during research. Its interesting in respect to the viewpoint of the screen.
How can the wavefunction be proved if watching it changes the image to particle based effects? Setting up some photo detectors to align with the diffraction nodes would trigger the fact it is being watched. And its reported time dilation properties would change this effectively to before the trigger was activated. This in effect would cause no trigger to occur and as none occured the diffraction pattern woul ensue causing the catch22 dilemma.
Thought provoking.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.
