How long did it take you guys to have your first consious AP? Like how long did you train for, When and where you did it. Ive been practicing for 2 weeks now and no result. I even tried the guidebook, but I cant seem to do it in the morning. Plus I only go to sleep once a day so if I dont get it in the morning then I gotta wait the next day. Plz somebody help me!!!

Some time ago one guy succeeded after having tried for ten years, but there
is no certain time for anyone.

If you don't succeed within 1-2 months, it can take years.

Putting intent, doing a session every day, sometimes with slightly different goals,
may help. Author Jürgen Ziewe had an OBE after five years, just by doing meditation
every day, and he didn't even have the specific goal of getting an OBE.

Thanks for giving us some tips on AP. Now, I am going to start meditation daily.

It's usually better because your physical body is still relaxed from your night's sleep. Your mind also has not been "boggled" yet by all the daily stress and events you experience on a daily basis.  :-)

Very early morning, as when you wake up at 5 am or so, and would normally go back to sleep is best.

You are in a state where you can very easily access sleep paralysis, and your body is agreeable about relaxing, while your mind is fairly sharp.

2 weeks ain't nothin. It took me about 1 month to have my first one, a year later to have my 2nd one, and several more years of practice to make it a regular thing, and I'm still working at it. So stick in there, it's a lifestyle, not a weekend course. I think a common misconception is that if you have 1 it will be easy after that... nope, you have have to be in it for the long haul (unless you're a natural, which is rare).

I tried this morning and I woke up several times and when I tried I kept falling back to sleep. But I cant tell if this is a dream or reality but I tried to AP and while doing I tried visualation and when I did I saw a golden ring and I rose out of my body as I focusing on the ring. I dont know if it was a dream or real. Anybody have any tips on how to stay awake in the morning or could help me figure out if I was dreaming when I saw the ring?

When you awaken in the morning, leave your bed and go to another room, try a comfortable chair or even a couch. You program your mine through out your lifetime, that your bed is for sleeping. It's a hard habit to break. Another thing you can do is if you sleep on your side, tell yourself that when you go to bed and lay on your side that this is for sleep, but when you lay on your back that now it's for practice. You will see that you can "entrain" yourself to do basically anything you wish. I personally had to this when I first started to learn to Phase, because even when I went to bed, I would still be noticing the darkness in front of my eyes for a long period of time before I fell asleep. This got to be exhausting. So to rectify the problem I say when I lie down on my side,  this is for sleep and then I go to sleep. It's weird that this even became a problem in the first place, but I guess sometimes when you practice noticing all the time like I did, your mind loses track of when you should turn that practice off. At least in my case it did. I find that there are all kinds of hurdles and challenges to get through when you start to practice Phasing and Out of Body techniques. You just have to overcome each one of them as they present themselves to you.   :-)

Once ya get to 10+ years for your first conscious experience... then we'll talk.  ;)  ROFL

In my case, it's actually been many years without anything I would define as a truly conscious success.  Not quite quite sure how many years of hand.  I'd have to think a second.  Nine, ten, something like that.  Sounds like a big number on these boards, but such things do happen.

I only bother to reply to this topic, because I want to give an opinion here.  It's not entirely IMO, about the end result, but about the act of working, learning, and trying.  Like Stookie said, it's a lifestyle, not a quick little course.  So many people of course hope to reach their goal in weeks or months and if you do that's great... but there is some greatness to the slow path too.  You get to see success and amazement in related but not quite intentional events.  Practicing is good for self discipline (It certainly takes some commitment to decide to set an alarm for some crazy hour of morning some night just because it's a good night to do so,) you get to be pretty good at dream recall, and dream work is a neat subject in itself.  I'm just saying...  :D

Greetings
I had Many spontaneous OBEs as a child and preteenager (yet never understand what was happening). As an adult it took between six to eight months of regular practice before finally deliberately getting out of body.

Cheers  :-)

Hi,
Same here.
I still remember returning to places visited in the daytime. Usually these places were dark. It seemed natural. I met a friend on occasion too, thinking about it, I had to help him before we could leave his house. Not seen him since 6 years old, we moved miles away. First memories I was 4 or 5.
Had some strange trips out too, these were as aware as daytime in the physical.
