The title says it all.
I love to read about anything that pertains to the non physical or our growth.

So I'm asking all of you, in your opinions, what are the best books or eBooks (preferably eBooks or any book that I could get from online and download to the computer) .

Here's a list of categories I'm looking for, but not limited to.

  • Spiritual/Personal Growth
  • Out of Body Experience
  • Anything pertaining to OUR history

Anything pertaining to the non physical and our evolution

Also if you guys know any good movies/videos that have to do with the above categories, post those here too.
Please not any hour long videos of someone talking, those just bore me  :-D

Thanks !

Alice Bailey has two books that have greatly helped me spiritually.

http://www.lucistrust.org/en/books/alice_bailey_books/compilations/death_the_great_adventure

http://www.lucistrust.org/en/books/alice_bailey_books/paperback/a_treatise_on_white_magic

As for ebooks of the above two recommendations, you might want to check amazon.com and download their ebooks for kindle if you have a kindle.

Here's a free PDF of the book that changed everything for me:

http://steinerbooks.org/research/archive/how_to_know_higher_worlds/how_to_know_higher_worlds.pdf

Packed full of good information. The forward:
Quote
We live and act within a world whose deeper aspects are hidden from our physical senses. Yet each of us possesses other faculties which, when cultivated, can lift the veil that separates us from spiritual knowledge. In this book, Rudolf Steiner charts a meditative path that leads both to inner peace and to enhanced powers of soul, and finally to the lifting of that veil. The road is long but secure, and is open to everyone. Its fruits of inner serenity, strength, and wisdom benefit not only the seeker but others as well, and certainly the world stands more than ever in need of insights and actions that are born of the spirit. How to Know Higher Worlds is, therefore, not only a personal guide to the spirit, but also a path through self-knowledge to compassionate action in the world.

Much appreciation for the thread and suggestions, cheers!

only 5...
Start with, 'conversations with god' by neale donald walsch (a great icebreaker into spirituality)...
then, 'the power of of now' by Eckart Tolle (teaches you about stillness and being in the present moment)
probablefuture.com for Remote Influencing and Viewing (a bit deep, but treaches us that we are all soul and are vibratory particles of light, and how to view anything by going into deep meditation)
The secret to the soul by William Burlham (about oobes, and how the multiverse really works)

...and then to finish, the book I'm reading at the moment, Ken Keys, 'The Handbook to Higher Consciousness' (an absolutely brilliant book, which wonderfully completes the rest and teaches you, real, practical ways on how to live a life of unconditional love...can't recommend it enough)

here are a couple of my favorites:

Unconditional Freedom: Social Revolution Through Individual Empowerment - by William J Murray
Anarchic Harmony: The Spirituality of Social Disobedience - by William J Murray

The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge - by Carlos Castaneda
(This is #1 in a series of 9; the first few are great, the latter part of the series gets a bit thin - but they're all good)

The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep - by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche

Astral Travel: Your Guide to the Secrets of Out-Of-The-Body Experiences - by Yvonne & Gavin Frost

Owning Your Own Shadow: Understanding the Dark Side of the Psyche - by Robert A. Johnson

Walkers Between the Worlds: The Western Mysteries from Shaman to Magus - by Caitlin & John Matthews

Waking Up: Overcoming the Obstacles to Human Potential - by Charles T. Tart
(Any book by Charles Tart is worth checking out really - he's a psychologist who did a lot of research in altered states)

Chaos, Creativity, and Cosmic Consciousness - by Rupert Sheldrake, Terence McKenna & Ralph Abraham

The Secret Teachings of Plants: The Intelligence of the Heart in the Direct Perception of Nature - by Stephen Harrod Buhner

What do you mean by OUR history?  I may have suggestions for that too.
be awesome.

Good thread! I'm not familiar with most of the suggestions here, I think I have some reading to do

I would also suggest My Big TOE by Thomas Campbell. It's available for free on Google Books. I'm not finished with it yet (it's a big book) and it can be quite a heavy read, but I'm really enjoying it so far. He's one of the guys who worked with Robert Monroe in the early stages of The Monroe Institute's research.

Look into an author named Michael Cremo.

"The Gods of Eden" by William Bramely is also a good book.

I'll look through my kindle and bookcases and give you a few more later.

But you can check out Erik Von Daniken books, though he's got dozens.  "Chariots of the Gods" was his first and lays it out pretty simply.

Michael Tsarion is good too.
be awesome.

Here's another free Rudolf Steiner book. It encompasses A LOT of stuff, but there is a section called "Cosmic evolution and the human being" as well as "Cosmic and human evolution now and in the future". It goes into Lemurian and Atlantean epochs of evolution and how it's led to where we're at now, also in relation to animals, plants, & minerals.

Rupert Sheldrake's morphic resonance is also a very interesting idea on human existence.

Of course there's also the fun ones like Terrance McKenna who had the "stoned ape" theory, in which as primates, we came out of the trees and started eating psychedelic mushrooms and found that they enhanced our senses and made us better at obtaining food.  so we continued to eat them more and more and over time they caused our brain to evolve into modern human.  he believed that we shouldn't have stopped that practice...  Some say he tried to evolve his own brain with DMT.  Then he died of a brain tumor.  Weird huh?
be awesome.
