I often find it hard to believe that one's destiny is encoded in stars. Life has so many variables that it seems completely unpredictable. Do you believe in  horoscopes? Do they work for you? If yes, what horoscope resource do you use? I'd love to try it out to see for myself. All horoscope predictions that I've read so far was either wrong or too general (could be easily applied to just about anybody).

NoY

if A and B both lead to C then it is predictable

:NoY:

ps: nothing in your life has ever been more than a reaction     to a positive or negative force,
so who if not you makes this free will choice

Horoscopes work in the same way as any other form of precognition.

The more Intent you can put forth towards the outcome, the greater the chance of that outcome occurring.

Hi,
I have read a few authors for a while and not one predicted the future with any accuracy. But then, do I need someone to do this for me?
Er NO. Lol.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I used to read horoscopes predictions. But I don't believe in it, because sometimes it is absolutely right and sometimes not.

It's just another useful "tool" for gaining data. It works just like all the other tools!

I've had a personal horoscope done by an astrologer and it was eerily accurate on most points. It seems to be able to portray certain character traits of a person at least, even in the general sense with just the 12 signs...

I've also had times in my life where my horoscope for that day was strikingly relevant. I got them as emails in a mailing list I couldn't cancel, so I would read them at the end of the day just out of interest. A number of times they were spot on - a minority of days overall but still enough times for me to consider it seriously - but it was more about the 'mood' of the day.

But there are so many variables to consider and that can change that I'm not sure anyone can predict the future. At the same time, people sometimes see or dream things that happen in that exact way possibly years later, so who knows?
Follow your heart without remorse.

Horoscopes aren't really meant for reading the future, it's more about gaining insight into the different aspects of your life in relation with the cosmos. I agree with Lionheart - it's just another tool. If you get away from the stereotypes and learn how's and why's of astrology, it's not that weird. Way back it was extremely helpful for knowing when to plant and harvest.

I don't believe.

I do believe there is a type of migrating shrimp that is influenced by the passage of Jupiter.

Also... the moon has influence on earth and the living things upon it... including the menstrual cycle human females... women.

As to whether a dot-to-dot of the stars has an actual influence on minute aspects of destiny... I don't think so.

Xanth put it a good way...

i believe the stars can have a more subtle affect on consciousness. Just as the moon and sun affect the ocean and animals. If we are tied to everything in the universe and nothing is indepent it would only make sense that are position in relation to the zodiac has a suble affect on events and nature. The end of the current mayan calendar which closely lines up with the vedic cycles of time is significant because during that transition we are directly lined up with the center of the milkyway galaxy. And I believe the ancients knew a lot more about cosmology than we do today.

Also astrology today is different from astrology 2,000 yrs ago. WHat you find in the paper, or your home page about horoscopes Is just the begining of a process used to obtain knowledge.

If they do have a subtle effect... I doubt mortal physical humans have come up with a system of measuring it using dot-to-dot pictures of star patterns.

..and.. why would the ancients know more about cosmology than we do today?

The Mayans thought the rain was brought by a Chak and the sun was a diety called Kinich Ahau... and remember back then... Kinich Ahau didn't represent the sun... he WAS the sun.

They were merely very adept at recording the movement of their deities. They didn't recognise it as a supernova at the edge of the andromeda system.

Obviously this can be argued with pseudo-archiology and no doubt someone will have an opinion on this.

I'm a bit of a Mesoamerica fanatic... I'm both as enthusiast of what the actual real archeological evidence and what scrupulous study of it over 2 centuries has gleaned... and also the fun side of it... theorising that maybe the scientists have it wrong... but I've sort of come back around on the real side of Mayana and amerindian culture.

Its just the fact that we really know how ancient "ancient civiizations really are. If we have a history of language dating back 2,000 years, WHat would a civilization come to with a history of 10,000 or 30,000 yearsof language, science ect. Some vedic scholars claim 50,000 years. A lot of the ancients lived in harmony with nature, knew about the chakras, human nature, and metaphysics to a degree seldom seen today. Just because they were not materialistic didnt mean they were not advance spiritually or intellectually. They understood that time occured in cycles and how to manipulate subtle energies like sound. Just as an example of what ancients knew, the dogon poeple of milawi claim that there are 266 subatomic particles, stephen hawking claims there is 200. They didnt learn though book learning but through experience and i think as we move forward in time we will realize how much we underestimated them.

The star patterns were just a sign to let them know where they were in relation to the zodiac at a given time. The unseen forces of that position were felt and recorded. Its more about our relationship to the universe than it is mapping the night sky.

As for thier beliefs no one is sure about the meaning behind the mythology, as a personification, symbol, or literal translation.

. Just because they were not materialistic didnt mean they were not advance spiritually or intellectually.
This is the reason they were advanced. Take away all the materialistic things in life and what do you have left? A hell of a lot of time for personal advancement. This is why some of us here show more favorable results than others. We know when to turn everything off and just relax, release and let go!  :-)

Astrological and tarot symbols are physical expressions of underlying forces. They're often combined, you'll see a lot of astrological symbols in tarot cards. Anyone who is familiar with the tree of life and pathworking learns all about the underlying meanings and how to utilize them.
