Wife saw an astral spider while awake!

Hi guys.. I wanted to post an experience that happened last year with my wife. I have hever heard of astral spiders before this happened but afterwards it seems that many people have seen these, just not sure if they saw them the same way my wife did.

My wife went to bed one night late after i was already asleep.. I have a huge fear of spiders but she doesn't. According to what she told me, she came and got in the bed while awake.. While getting comfortable in the bed she sat up and looked over at the wall next to my side of the bed. She swears that she had not yet fallen asleep and she saw a GIANT spider on the wall.. One that is so big I am sure it doesnt exist in the physical world. She said she looked at and got scared because she thought i was going to see it and freak out. She said the spider started crawling towards me but then disappeared in a black myst of smoke. She said it was black and red.

So once she told me this the next day, i researched it and found alot of people have seen these while trying to AP. The thing I wonder about is, how did she see it if she was by her on statement, fully awake.. And not trying to AP? My thoughts are that she somehow tapped into her third eye and maybe saw this thing in the astral realm?

I also have thought that maybe these astral spiders are not actual entities or astral wildlife but, but manifestations of a persons fears since many people are afraid of spiders. But since she isnt and I am, could she have been seeing something that my mind manifested?

I'd like to hear any experiences you guys have with these things and what your thoughts are on this situation.
I have woken up in the middle of the night before or early in the morning, opened my eyes and swore i saw a spider next to my pillow on many occassions. Usually it results in my jumping out of bed screaming and slapping my body, but not being able to find the spider and going back to bed. Whenever i wake up i usually have barely any memory of this but i have enough to not know if It actually happened, or if i dreamed it. I know that it happened because my wife has been in bed and witnessed me jump out of bed acting crazy and barely able to talk, then just collapsing back into the bed. But the spiders i have seen have not been massive like the one she saw.

I am not able to explain about the spiders.  Perhaps you were half a sleep.  Whatever it is, you and your wife know that they were not real.  I would try to forget about the spiders because if it is on your mind you are likely to see them again and you would be worrying about it.

We are not worried about it, we just want to know how many others have experienced this and what people think it was. I was sound asleep and saw nothing and she swears she was awake and had just gotten in the bed.

It is good that you are not worried about it.  It has never happened to me so I do not know.

Was that while out of body completely, awake fully, or half awake? I'm just curious.. my wife seems to be more in tune with those types of things judging from other experiences she has told me about from when she was a child. I do believe she mentioned the colors of this one looked almost cartoonish... like I think more red than black but wierd not like a real one.

Assuming close emotional ties with your wife I wonder if your seeing these spiders initially, tuned her into them as well.  A brainwave entrainment between the two of you.
